The purpose of this subject is for the students to get familiar whit the routines,
techniques and methods that are related whit microscopy as well to get basic
knowledge from the area of cell biology. They study the cell chemical methods used in
medicine and are especially important during diagnosing certain diseases. With this the
students develop specific competences in development of scientific research
procedures that are used with microscopy, building an analytical approach that will be
used during the diagnostic of certain hereditary and nonhereditary diseases. In the
Cytology part the students develop basic theoretical foreknowledge for the cell and for
the cell organelles, especially the nucleus structure and constitution of the whole
genetic material. All membrane and nonmembrane organelles are included with special
emphasis on their functions and associated pathologies. In this way the students will be
able to identify a normal cell from physiologically amended cell. Also the students have
a goal to get familiar whit the structure and function of macromolecules in the living cell
and the clinical-biochemical correlations in it. All the theoretical knowledge that the
students gather in this subject is controlled and determined with practical laboratory
work and practice.

The purpose of this course is to familiarize students with theoretical and practical
knowledge in clinical practice. Studying this course, students will gain knowledge
about the basic types of laboratories, the behavior and personal protection in them.
They will learn about how to properly take blood, urine and fluid from patients
hospitalized and treated in clinical departments, to handle medical waste, and also to
master the ways of disinfection and sterilization. They will study the basic
characteristics of laboratory equipment and laboratory techniques to learn how to
safely and properly operate them.
