Observational Summary

On October 31 2017, Shahrukh Abdul Jalil went to the Penny Coffee House located at

331 5th street downtown south at 2:30p.m. . He sat down at a table, facing the food

display exactly in the middle of the coffee house and picked out a young boy to observe

for his observational summary

The young man, who we will be calling “Rocky” from here on fourth, had already

been sitting at the table with his mother when Shahrukh arrived at 2:30p.m., drinking

what seemed to be milk with whom we can assume is his mother. The table they were

both sitting at was located south of the store besides the long vertical windows with the

view of the front of the store. The young boy seemed to be five years old wearing a black

pull-over hoodie, with a logo of an Adidas located on the top right of the sweater, black

jogger pants with what seemed to be a shoe lace tied up holding up his pants and black

shoes with the logo of Vans written on both sides. Rocky had his attention focused on a

IPhone tablet. He held with both his hands and headphones plugged in that connected to

both his ears. We assumed he was watching a video of entertainment or information f

some sort while his mother was on her phone. At 2:29p.m, a waitress had walked up to

their table with both her hands occupied with two steaming hot plates, one contained a

grilled cheese while the other was a sandwich of some sort with tomatoes, lettuce and

onions being visible from the side of the sandwich. Rocky took his ear buds out of both

ears with his left and right hand and had wrapped it around his iPad one and a half times,
while his mother was eating her gilled cheese, Rocky opened his sandwich, removing the

top slice of bread and removing his lettuce pieces one at a time. He excluded three-lettuce

piece from his sandwich with his left hand and placing them on the left side of his plate

where he had placed a napkin underneath the lettuce. Rocky picked up the top slice of

bread he had recently taken off and put it back onto the sandwich to make it complete. At

2:43p.m, both rocky and his mother had finished their meals and Rocky had put his now

empty cup on the empty plate with his right hand and wrapped the lettuce with the napkin

with his left and stuffed it into the cup. Rocky and his mother exchanged a few words that

could not be heard by Shahrukh, Rocky and his mother got up soon after that. At

2:45p.m, Rocky had gotten up and pushed his chair back in and grabbed his Ipad off the

table with one hand, holding his mother with his left hand, and walked out of the “EXIT”

the main entrance at the front of the store, they walked towards their car that was parked

in front of a parking meter directly in front of the store.

Shahrukh stayed in the Penny Coffee House until 2:48p.m. He then closed his

laptop screen, unzipped his backpack that was on the ground to the right of hum and

placed the laptop inside the bag. He then exited from the main exit. He got into his dark

blue car located across the street of the Penny Coffee House and drove to his house on

Kodiak Boulevard North. Shahrukh later reviewed his observational summary that same

night at 9:18p.m. to fix any spelling errors and had finally submitted the paper at

10:32p.m. in Canvas the same night at October 31, 2017.
