LEADERSHIP STYLES

When it has been assigned the responsibility of leadership and the appropriate authority, is the task of
the leader to achieve goals by working with and through his followers. The leaders have shown many
different approaches to how they fulfill their responsibilities in relation to their followers. The most
common way to analyze the behavior of leading approach is to classify the various types of existing
leadership. Styles vary according to the duties that the leader must play alone, the responsibilities you
want to accept that their superiors and his philosophical commitment to the completion and fulfillment of
the expectations of their subordinates. Many terms were used to define leadership styles, but perhaps
the most important was that of the three basic styles: autocratic leader, participative leader and leading
rein.

1. - Autocratic Leadership
Autocratic leadership is an extreme form of transactional leadership, where leaders have absolute
power over their workers or equipment. Staff members have a small chance to give suggestions, even
if these are for the good of the team or organization. Many people feel resentful when treated in this
way. Autocratic leadership often has high levels of absenteeism and staff turnover. For some tasks and
unskilled work style can be effective because the advantages outweigh the disadvantages control.

2.-Bureaucratic Leadership
Bureaucratic leaders do everything according to "the book". Strictly follow the rules and make sure that
everything they do must be his followers. It is a very appropriate leadership style to work when there
are serious safety risks (such as working with machinery, toxic substances, or dangerous weight) or
when large sums of money are at stake.

3.-Charismatic Leadership
A charismatic leadership style is similar to transformational leadership, because these leaders inspire
their teams a lot of enthusiasm and very energetic to lead others. anyway charismatic leaders tend to
believe more in themselves than in their teams and this creates problems, and the entire project or
organization could collapse on the leader leaves the company. In the eyes of the followers, success is
tied to the presence of the charismatic leader.

4. - Participative or democratic leadership

Even though it is the democratic leader who takes the final decision, they invite other team members to
contribute to the decision making process. This not only increases job satisfaction but also helps to
develop skills. Team members feel in control of their own destiny so that they are motivated to work
hard, rather than financial reward.

Since democratic participation takes time, this approach can take a long time but often a good result is
achieved. This leadership style can be adopted when it is essential teamwork and when quality is more
important than speed or productivity.

5. - Laissez-faire Leadership
This French phrase means "leave it be" and is used to describe leaders who leave their team members
work on their own. It can be effective if leaders monitor what is being achieved and communicated to
the team regularly. Often the laissez-faire leadership is effective when individuals are experienced and
initiative. Unfortunately, this type of leadership can occur only when the controls do not control.
6. - Leadership people-oriented or relationship-oriented leadership
It is the opposite of task-oriented leadership. With people-oriented leadership, leaders are fully oriented
to organize, support and develop make their computers. It is a participative style, and tends to empower
the team and foster creative collaboration. In practice, most leaders use both task-oriented and people-
oriented leadership.

7. - Naturally Leadership
This term describes a leader who is not formally recognized as such. When someone at any level of an
organization leads satsifacer simply needs a computer, is described as a natural leader. Some call
servant leadership.

In many ways this type of leadership is a democratic form leadership because the whole team
participates in the decision-making process. Supporters of natural leadership model say it is a good
way to work in a world where values are increasingly important. Others believe that in situations of
much competition, natural leaders can lose weight by other leaders using other leadership styles.

8. -Task-oriented Leadership
Leaders highly task-oriented, are focused only in that the work is accomplished and can be a bit
autocratic. These leaders are very good to define the work and the roles required, order structures,
planning, organizing and controlling. But tend not think much about the welfare of their equipment, so
they have problems to motivate and retain its employees.

9. -Transactional Leadership
This leadership style is born with the idea that team members agree completely obey their leader when
they accept the job.

The transaction is the payment for the effort and the acceptance towards the tasks that give them their
leader. The leader has the right to punish those who believe that their work is not as he wishes.

Transactional leadership is a type of management, not a true leadership style, because the focus is
towards the implementation of short-term tasks.

10.- Transformational Leadership

Transformational leaders are considered true leaders by most leadership theorists. Inspire their team
on a permanent basis and will transmit their enthusiasm to the team. In turn, these leaders need to feel
supported only by certain employees.

It is an emotional way back. That is why many organizations have to function both as transformational
leadership with transactional leadership.

The transactional leaders (or managers) ensure that routine is carried forward properly, while seeking
new transformational initiatives and add values
