Education Reimbursement Policy

Our education reimbursement program is designed to support employees in furthering

their professional development and to promote continuous learning. This is an
employee driven benefit, while manager approval is required, education is to be actively
selected by the employee, and is not intended to be used for team development.

Salesforce will reimburse employees for the cost of fees, tuition, and books up the
country limit (in Appendix 1) per calendar year for job-related educational courses which
meet the guidelines below, and are taken at an accredited institution or through a
nationally recognized professional training organization, executive education or
language school. Where required by local legislations, the applicable tax will be
deducted from the amount received through payroll for employees who are paid in
France, Denmark, Israel, Spain and Finland, Morocco and Brazil.

Eligibility:
● Permanent (full and part time) employees
● Receive a final grade of ‘C’ or better, a ‘Pass’ if the course is Pass/Fail, or
Certificate of Completion
● Actively employed with Salesforce at time of reimbursement
● Not on a PIP (Performance Improvement Program)
● Claims must be submitted by November 30th to qualify for the same
calendar year benefit.

Eligible Expenses:
● The cost of fees, tuition and books up to set amount per calendar year (as
demonstrated in Appendix 1) for courses offered by accredited academic
institutions, i.e. university or college, nationally accredited professional training
organization and language schools (unless language courses are offered within
your local Salesforce office).
● Examples of this include, but are not limited to, qualified accounting programs for
accountants, recognized certifications in programming languages for IT
professionals, CIPD or SHRM for HR professionals, and Prince 2 for project
managers. These bodies are recognized as industry/subject institutions and offer
accredited education programs.
● Privately run courses, seminars, workshops and conferences are not eligible
under this program. All programs/courses must be nationally recognized or run
through a nationally accredited organization. Examples of private training not
eligible for reimbursement include, but are not limited to, public speaking and
whiteboard training.
Other Requirements:
● Reimbursement cases are subject to regular compliance audits, and claim
approvals may be overturned if information is found to be missing, inaccurate or
courses are not eligible as per the criteria in this policy.
● All submissions are manager approval dependent, on submission of request
employees will be required to confirm that their manager approval was sought
and given, final submission will be subject to review.
● Education Reimbursement covers qualifications, degrees and individual courses

responsibilities with Salesforce
2. Be part of a program leading to a further education qualification
pertaining to the employee’s work
3. Not currently offered through our internal Talent Development programs
or scheduled on the Global Talent Calendar
● The Education Reimbursement program is run on a calendar year (January -
December). Claims made after November 30th will be processed from the
following year’s benefit.
● While some education will span across calendar years, reimbursement will occur
from your benefit amount for the year in which it is submitted. ie , courses taken
in 2016, but submitted in 2017, will be deducted from your 2017 reimbursement
limit.
● Travel expenses i.e. parking/hotels and food/beverage are not approved under
