 Certified Quality System
The IMPER Division never loses sight of its
goal: ensuring that the products it supplies
for protecting buildings and other infrastruc-
tures from water come up to the customer’s
expectations in every respect.
This is a goal that dates back to the compa-
ny’s foundation in 1936. Since then, how
successful the company has been in meeting
this goal – and the outstanding performan-
ce of its products – are borne out by the
many European Technical Approval certifi-
cates issued and renewed by the ITC (the
Italian National Research Council’s Institute
of Construction Technologies, formerly
known as the ICITE) and by the national
member organizations of the UEAtc (Union
Européenne pour l’Agrément Tecnique dans
la Construction), including CSTB in France,
BBA in the United Kingdom, IAB in Ireland,
BDA KOMO in the Netherlands, and
Belgium’s UBAtc.
In addition, the Division’s product’s have been
approved and certified by international orga-
nizations such as EMI (Hungary), JIS (Japan),
BRANZ (New Zealand), Factory Mutual
System (USA), Bureau Veritas (France),
SOCOTEC (France), ZUS (Czech Republic),
TSUS (Slovak Republic), TSE (Turkey), ZAG
(Croatia), Laboratoire Central Ponts et
Chaussées (France), Italian State Railways, the
Italian National Highway Administration, and
many others.
At the root of this international recognition is
the Division’s quality system, or in other words
CSTC the set of planned, systematic activities which
assure that production methods satisfy specific

THE QUALITY
ON WATERPROOFING
Achieving long-lasting waterproofing per-
formance is a question of starting from a
well executed design, using quality products
and entrusting the job to installers who can
be relied upon to follow the manufacturer’s
directions (see the section covering gener-
al application instructions in DATAQUAD
2000) and the accepted codes of practice
that establish standards for workmanship.
During membrane manufacturing, raw
materials must be continually monitored
and, given their variety and variability, com-
pound formulations must be constantly
adapted to the materials that are available at
any given time. This calls for a wealth of
experience and know-how, the support of a
fully equipped laboratory, and efficient pro-
duction systems and processes that imple-
ment appropriate controls. Above all, it calls
for a deep-seated commitment to quality.
There are a number of common miscon-
ceptions about waterproofing membranes.
One such misconception, for example, con-
cerns the weight per square meter of the
non-woven polyester fabrics used for rein-
forcement purposes. In fact, the weight of
this reinforcement is irrelevant, as quality
must be gauged on the basis of the entire
combination of mechanical performance
parameters. These parameters are not
linked to weight, but to the processing tech-
niques and composition of the reinforce-
ment, in synergy with the bitumen-polymer
compound with which it is co-extruded.
Another common misconception consists
of confusing the “cold flexibility” of bitu-
men-polymer membranes with their ability
to resist cracking during installation at low
temperatures.
“Cold flexibility” is determined in the labo-
ratory under test conditions established by
EN standards. The cold flexibility deter-
mined on the same product or on different
products can thus be compared, but has no
direct influence on whether or not mem-
branes will crack when they are unrolled at
the installation site under differing temper-
ature conditions.
This is because the conditions encountered
when membranes are unrolled at the site

are much more severe than those used in
testing, and are completely unrepeatable.
In addition, rolls may be stored outdoors at
low temperatures for weeks at a time, and
a few hours in the sun are not enough to
ensure that the entire roll – including the
innermost parts – reaches the recom-
mended minimum application temperature
of 5 °C. And during installation, membranes
are often unrolled very quickly (by kicking
the rolls, for instance).
As one of the factors which is most impor-
tant to the success of a waterproofing proj-
ect is correct design, it is essential to use
waterproofing/insulation systems that are
appropriate for the type of structure con-
cerned – without neglecting such details as
drains, joints, steps, etc., in the surrounding
areas.
Finally, installation quality is an important
consideration, as product performance
depends to a large extent on the installer’s
skill at controlling the gas torch flame and
sealing joins between sheets, and at ensur-
ing that all flashing areas around the mem-
brane are leak-free.
“Agréments”: quality certificates
At first glance, all manufacturers’ water-
proofing membranes look pretty much
the same. They differ considerably, how-
ever, as regards reliability, or in other
words their ability to maintain their
original characteristics for years after
installation, with a minimum amount of
deterioration.
Now, choosing the best membranes is
easier, thanks to the “European Technical
Approval Certificate” (Agrément tech-
nique) issued by the official member
organizations of the UEAtc (Union
Européenne pour l’Agrément technique
dans la construction), which consists of
representative institutes from eleven
European countries.
The UEAtc issues directives covering
test methods and performance require-
ments, as well as installation techniques,
thus providing a standardized approach
for assessing the quality of prefabricat-
ed bitumen-polymer membranes and
many other innovative construction
materials.
The Italian member of the UEAtc is the
ITC (the National Research Council’s
Institute of Construction Technologies, for-
merly known as the ICITE). As a service to
manufacturers, this Institute takes samples
of products in actual service and investi-
gates their performance over time. It also
performs laboratory tests on samples of
new products taken from production or
stock, on products that have been exposed
to extended service, and on samples taken
directly at the installation site. Through an
extensive, complex process, the ITC can
thus determine whether the product truly
complies with the sample.
The Agrément certificate will be issued
to the manufacturer only after all of the
checks envisaged by this procedure have
been carried out. And these checks are
repeated without advance warning for
the entire five-year period that the cer-
tificate remains valid.

When the certificate expires, the pro-
cedure starts all over again. Once an
Italian Agrément certificate has been
obtained, the manufacturer can apply to
have it confirmed by UEAtc member
organizations in other countries.
Quality that extends to service
As the performance-related quality of
waterproofing membranes also depends
on how they are installed, the IMPER
Division maintains a customer service
department staffed by specialists in design
and installation techniques.
The customer service department fulfils a
variety of functions: solving tricky water-
proofing problems, developing new prod-
ucts, research, performing diagnostic site
surveys, training installers (at the
Mappano Plant’s Training Center), provid-
ing designers with up-to-the-minute
information, and working out cost-effec-
tive technological systems and solutions
for special construction sites.
 MARKING
GENERAL
Bitumen-polymer waterproofing mem-
branes used for certain specific applica-
tions are subject to CE marking require-
ments.
Consequently, bitumen membranes that
do not carry the CE marking cannot be
put on the market, distributed or used
for these applications anywhere in the
European Union.
The CE Marking certifies that the
membrane is fit for its intended use, and
is thus intended to protect the consumer.
The CE Marking is affixed by the manu-
facturer on the basis of Council Directive
89/106/EEC – the Construction Products
Directive – under the supervision of an
approved inspection and certification
organization called the Notified Body.
The manufacturer is responsible for
organizing and implementing production
and production control procedures that
ensure that waterproofing membranes
comply with the harmonized standards
covering each specific application.
The Notified Body is responsible for con-
ducting an initial assessment of the man-
ufacturer, certifying the manufacturer’s
production system and/or product, and
maintaining an effective program of regu-
lar audits.
MARKING DETAILS
1. Roll labeling
Each roll carries the following informa-
tion, which may be marked on a label, on
packaging straps, on screen-printed burn-
off film, etc.:
- CE symbol
- FPC Factory Production Control or
Product Certificate number
- Product name
- Length and width
- Weight or thickness
- Performance classes
(where required for certain specific appli-
cations)
- Declaration that product contains no
dangerous substances.
In addition to the information contem-
plated by CE marking requirements, each
IMPER roll is identified by the number of
the associated QCT Quality Control
Ticket, ensuring full product traceability.
2. Product Data Sheet
The Product Data Sheet (PDS) delivered
together with the product summarizes
information about the product and its
correct use, providing a concise descrip-
tion of the membrane, main specifica-
tions, recommended uses and methods
of installation.
It carries the CE Marking and the last two
digits of the year in which the marking
was affixed, together with data identifying
the Notified Body that issued the CE
Certificate.

The Product Data Sheet accompanies
every delivery: to ensure that it does,
IMPER physically attaches the Product
Data Sheet to the shipping document.
3. Declaration of Conformity
The Declaration of Conformity is the
document in which the manufacturer
expressly states that all obligations con-
nected with CE marking requirements
have been fulfilled.
It is issued at customer request.

DATAQUAD 2000
In 1989, IMPER ITALIA inaugurated
DATAQUAD, the waterproofing sector’s
first computer program developed to
help designers draw up specifications.
It was a menu-based program providing a
limited number of ready-made designs
and sample specifications clauses.
Ever attentive to changing needs, IMPER
ITALIA recently brought out a revised
version of the DATAQUAD program:

DATAQUAD 2000 is a major break-
through in the waterproofing sector as
the program is Italy’s first interactive guid-
ed expert system developed specifically
for designing bitumen-polymer mem-
brane roof waterproofing applications.
Clear and complete, DATAQUAD 2000
is an invaluable tool for designers and
installers alike.
The program offers 60,000 different
solutions, with diagrams, isometric scale
drawings of multi-layer systems, and typi-
cal specification clauses with construc-
tional details which cover virtually the
entire spectrum of standard waterproof
roofing designs used in Italy.
Together with the design program, the
CD ROM also contains a presentation
which provides information about
IMPER ITALIA, its divisions and sub-
sidiaries, and a fully-fledged “training
course” covering the entire history and
development of waterproofing.
Emphasis is placed on correct methods
for designing and applying sealing ele-
ments, i.e., bitumen-polymer mem-
branes, while references to UNI Italian
national standards and practical sugges-
tions are also provided.
THE PRODUCTS
The IMPER Division markets a wide range
of waterproofing products: from prefabri-
cated bitumen-polymer membranes to
synthetic liquid-applied waterproofing ma-
terials, bituminous emulsions and bonded
multi-layer insulating systems.
Bitumen-polymer membranes
More and more countries have issued
construction regulations mandating the
use of materials with specific technical
characteristics and performance features
which have been checked and certified
by official institutes.
A significant number of the IMPER
Division’s membranes have been certi-
fied in many countries around the world,
testifying to the high quality of the divi-
sion’s products.
The IMPER Division’s membrane produc-
tion plant is certified to comply with ISO
9001, guaranteeing consistent high quali-
ty in all manufacturing processes.
The range of prefabricated bitumen-
polymer membranes includes:
• Membranes with plastomeric polymer
modifying compounds (atactic
polypropylene, or APP), supplied black
or self-protected with slate chippings
and reinforced with non-woven poly-
ester fabric (stabilized versions also
available) or glass tissue.
• Membranes with elastomeric polymer
modifying compounds (styrene-butadi-
ene-styrene, or SBS), supplied black or
self-protected with slate chippings or
metal foil and reinforced with non-
woven polyester fabric or glass tissue.
• Membranes with PARALLOY® metal-
locene resin based elasto-plastomeric
compound, which combines the best fea-
tures of SBS and APP compounds.
PARALLOY® compound is used in two
different product ranges: PARALON
PLUS and PARALON FIRE. In the latter

range, PARALLOY‚ is blended with spe-
cial additives which increase the mem-
brane’s fire resistance and make it self-
extinguishing.
The co-extruded reinforcement consists
either of compact, spun-bond non-woven
polyester fabric, or of stabilized non-
woven polyester fabric.
Membranes are available in black or slate
surfaced versions.

product and application requirements.
TERMOTÈNE®
TERMOTENE® is a thermoplastic film
whose use in combination with bitumen-
polymer membranes was patented by
IMPER ITALIA as long ago as 1977.
The TERMOTENE® treatment is normal-
ly applied to the membrane’s lower face,
though in some cases it is used on both
upper and lower faces.
The TERMOTENE® treatment:
• Makes rolls easier to unroll
• Improves membrane adhesion to the
substrate
• Reduces the amount of gas needed to
melt the compound
• Ensures that work sites are cleaner,
neater and hence safer, as polyethyl-
ene release sheets and large amounts
of talc are no longer needed to keep
membrane surfaces from sticking.
SLATE GRANULE SURFACING
Slate surfacing is a treatment that pro-
vides the membrane with additional,
built-in protection by bonding graded
and sized natural slate chippings to the
upper face during the production
process. A special ceramization process
ensures that the mineral pigments used
to tint the slate chippings are long-last-
ing. Standard colors include natural
gray, red and green, while other colors
are available on request.
SURFACE TREATMENTS
TEXTENE®
TEXTENE® is a high value-added surface
finish produced using a special process in
which the membrane surface is coated
with a layer of preformed textured poly-
mer fiber film. The TEXTENE® treatment
is normally applied to the membrane’s
upper face, though in some cases it is
used on both upper and lower faces.
The TEXTENE® treatment improves:
• Appearance, as TEXTENE® gives the
membrane a velvety smooth surface.
• Environmental impact: As they are
talc-free, TEXTENE® treated mem-
branes are cleaner to work with and
release less dust into the environment.
• Performance: The TEX-
TENE®treatment improves membrane
performance, particularly as regards
waterproofing durability, ease of torch
application, sheet strength and tear
resistance, ability to bear foot traffic
during installation and paintability.

REFLECTA®
REFLECTA® is a heat-reflecting aluminum
treatment applied on a thermoplastic
film. The REFLECTA® treatment is used
on SELECTA Series membranes, and is
optionally available on other products.
The REFLECTA® treatment:
• Provides an attractive bright aluminum
finish which improves roll appearance.
• Reduces the temperature of rolls
stored outdoors in direct sunlight by
as much as 30 °C, helping the com-
pound maintain its original adhesion
properties.
• Protects the membrane during flame
bonding: the compound melts suffi-
ciently to adhere to the substrate
without charring or other deterio-
ration.
ALUMINIUM FOIL
ARWENOL AL Series membranes feature
an attractive surface finish produced by
adhesive bonding a herringbone-patterned
embossed aluminium foil layer to the
membrane’s upper face. The embossed
pattern is also designed to compensate for
thermal movements on the part of the
membrane and the aluminium foil, which
take place at different rates. Available col-
ors include natural aluminium, copper, red
and green.
 ELASTOMERIC MEMBRANES
WITH AGRÉMENT CERTIFICATION

Product description
SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modi-
fied bitumen polymer waterproofing
membrane. PARAFLEX Series prefabri-
cated membranes include PARAFLEX
NT (non-woven continuous filament
polyester fabric reinforcing mat stabili-
zed with mineral fibers, TERMOTENE
thermoplastic film treatment on upper
face, available thicknesses 3 and 4 mm);
PARAFLEX W (glass tissue reinforce-
ment, TERMOTENE thermoplastic film
treatment on upper face, available thick-
nesses 3 and 4 mm); PARAFLEX
ARD/HS (non-woven continuous fila-
ment polyester fabric reinforcing mat
stabilized with mineral fibers, upper face
surfaced with slate chippings, thickness
4 mm plus slate) and PARAFLEX ARD/S
(continuous filament polyester fabric
reinforcing mat stabilized with mineral
fibers, upper face surfaced with slate
chippings, density 4.5 kg/m2). Lower
face of all types is coated with TERMO-
TENE film. On the optional PARAFLEX
NT4 M version, both faces are coated
with high value-added TEXTENE®
preformed textured polymer fiber film,
which enhances the product, improving
durability and appearance.
The bitumen-polymer compound’s spe-
cial formulation ensures high mechanical
performance, cold flexibility at tempera-
tures down to –25°C), and excellent fati-
gue strength. In addition, the com-
pound’s ultimate elongation exceeds
2000%. PARAFLEX Series membranes
are supplied in strapped rolls, each
accompanied by a Quality Control
Certificate. PARAFLEX Series membra-
nes comply with CE marking require-
ments where applicable. They contain
no asbestos, tar or other dangerous
substances.

TECNOFLEX Series COLD FLEXIBILITY –20°C

Product description
SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) modi-
fied bitumen polymer waterproofing
membrane. TECNOFLEX Series prefabri-
cated membranes include TECNOFLEX
MT (non-woven continuous filament
polyester fabric reinforcing mat, TERMO-
TENE thermoplastic film treatment on
upper face, available thicknesses 3 and 4
mm), TECNOFLEX MT ARD (non-woven
continuous filament polyester fabric
reinforcing mat, upper face surfaced with
slate chippings, available in 4 and 4.5
kg/m2 grades), TECNOFLEX W (glass tis-
sue reinforcement, TERMOTENE thermo-
plastic film treatment, available in 3 and 4
kg/m2 grades) and TECNOFLEX W ARD
(glass tissue reinforcement, upper face
surfaced with slate chippings, available in
4 and 4.5 kg/m2 grades). The bitumen-
polymer compound’s special formulation
ensures high mechanical performance,
cold flexibility at temperatures down to
–20°C), and excellent fatigue strength. In

Product description

PARALON Series products are pro-

products, the reinforcing mat is stabilized

PARALON PLUS COLD FLEXIBILITY –25°C

Product description
Prefabricated waterproofing membranes
for applications requiring excellent
mechanical strength. PARALON PLUS
membranes are produced from PARAL-
LOY compound, which consists of met-
allocene based resins of selected molec-
ular weight dispersed in bitumen, and is
co-extruded with a non-woven continu-
ous filament or stabilized polyester fiber
reinforcing mat. PARALON PLUS mem-
branes are available in versions with a
talc-treated upper face, or with the upper
face surfaced with slate chippings.
Faces may also be treated with the pro-
prietary TEXTENE® finish, a special pre-
formed textured polymer fiber film which
enhances the product, improving dura-
bility and appearance. Specified instead
of the standard talc treatment, the
optional TEXTENE® finish ensures that
membranes are cleaner to work with and
can be more readily overcoated: with the
TEXTENE® finish, protective treatments
adhere better and are more easily
applied, increasing the service life of
both the membrane and the protective
coating. The lower face is coated with
TERMOTENE film, which facilitates
application. PARALON PLUS membranes
are supplied in strapped rolls, each
accompanied by a Quality Control
Certificate, and are covered by European
Technical Approval certification (formerly

The Pluses provided by PAR-
ALON PLUS
• Cold flexibility
Expresses the product’s ability to stay
flexible at low temperatures: down to
–20°C for PARALON PLUS membranes.
• Weathering resistance
The ability to maintain original perform-
ance levels over time. It is expressed as
the loss of cold flexibility after accelerated
aging in a forced-draft environmental
chamber at 70°C for 180 hours: PARALON
PLUS membranes are still flexible at –15°C.
• Shape stability at high tempera-
tures
A parameter expressed as the tempera-
ture at which the product retains its
shape and consistency, with no flow,
creep or dripping: 140°C for PARALON
PLUS
membranes.
• Ultimate elongation
A quality indicator that expresses the
compound’s toughness, as well as its
ability to follow any movements caused
by shifting substrates: ≥400% for the
PARALLOY compound.
• Marking
The origin and authenticity of all products
in the PARALON range are guaranteed by
an identification marking on the talc treat-
ed surface. Marking is applied either on
the selvage or along lengthwise edges.

Product description
Prefabricated waterproofing membranes
produced from PARALLOY® compound,
which consists of metallocene based
resins of selected molecular weight dis-
persed in bitumen with special non-toxic
flame retardant additives, co-extruded
with a non-woven continuous or com-
posite filament polyester fabric rein-
forcement mat.
The compound’s special formulation pro-
vides PARALON PLUS FIRE membranes
with excellent self-extinguishing and
flame resistant properties, ensuring a
high fire reaction rating. The high per-
formance reinforcing mat makes these
membranes ideal for applications requir-
ing superior mechanical strength.
PARALON PLUS FIRE membranes are
available in 3 and 4 mm thick versions
with a talc-treated upper face, or with
the upper face surfaced with slate chip-
pings in two grades: 4.5 kg/m2, or 4 mm
plus slate.
The lower face is coated with TER-
MOTENE film, which facilitates appli-
cation and improves membrane adhe-
sion to the substrate to be waterpro-
ofed. PARALON PLUS FIRE membranes
are supplied in strapped rolls, each
accompanied by a Quality Control Cer-
tificate.

Certification
PARALON PLUS FIRE membranes have
obtained European Technical Approval
(formerly ICITE Agrément certification)
and have also obtained “Agrément tech-
nique avec Certification ATG n. 1364”
from the Belgian UBAtc (Union Belge
pour l’Agrément Technique dans la
Construction). They pass the fire resist-
ance test as per ENV 1187-1.

TOP Series COLD FLEXIBILITY –10°C

Product description
TOP Series prefabricated waterproofing
membranes are available in two versions:
TOP S, featuring a non-woven continu-
ous filament polyester fabric reinforcing
mat with lengthwise mineral fibers to
improve dimensional stability, and TOP
N, which features a reinforced glass tis-
sue mat. Both are supplied in thickness-
es of 3 and 4 mm.
Careful formulation and distribution of
distilled bitumen and polymers ensue
outstanding mechanical performance
and aging resistance. The upper face of
TOP Series membranes is black and
treated with talc, and can be overcoated
with ELASTOMUL or PARWENOL 4822
Aluminum protective and reflective
paints. TOP 3 and 4 membranes are also
available with the proprietary TEXTENE®
finish, a special preformed textured poly-
mer fiber film which enhances the prod-
uct, improving durability and appearance.
Specified instead of the standard talc
treatment, the optional TEXTENE® finish
ensures that membranes are cleaner to
work with and release less dust into the
environment, and can be overcoated with
ELASTOMUL and PARWENOL 4822
Aluminum series protective paints. With
the TEXTENE® finish, protective treat-
ments adhere better and are more easily
applied, increasing the service life of both
the membrane and the protective coating.
As a further benefit, paint coatings can
be applied immediately after the mem-
brane is installed, thus saving time and
reducing labor costs. The TOP Series is
also available in the TOP ARD/S and
TOP ARD/N versions, which are surfaced
with slate chippings in 3.5, 4 and 4.5
kg/m2 grades for the former, and 4 or 4.5
kg/m2 grades for the latter. The lower
face of all TOP Series membranes is
coated with TERMOTENE hot-melt film,
which facilitates application and
improves membrane adhesion to the

proofing membranes are produced from

Product description
ARWENOL AL waterproofing mem-
branes consist of a special bitumen and
polymer-based compound co-extruded
with a reinforced glass tissue mat and
adhesive bonded to an embossed alu-
minum foil layer.
This herringbone-patterned aluminum
foil layer covers the entire upper face
with the exception of a 5 cm-wide sel-
vage, which is treated with TER-
MOTENE, as is the lower face.
This selvage band facilitates adhesion at
overlaps.
ARWENOL AL membranes comply with
CE marking requirements where appli-

TOP S4 ANTIRADICE root resistant
grade membranes are produced by co-
extruding a bitumen-polymer based
elasto-plastomeric compound with spe-
cial long-lasting root resistant chemical
additives (esterified fatty acids and
oxyphenols) with a non-woven continu-
ous filament polyester fabric reinforcing
mat located midway through the mem-
brane’s thickness and acting in total
synergy with it.
With these special chemical additives,
TOP S4 ANTIRADICE root resistant
grade membranes pass the most com-
monly used plant root resistance test –
the so-called “Lupine Test” as per UNI
8202-24 – with no root penetration or
damage to the product.
They comply with CE marking require-
ments where applicable, and contain
no asbestos, tar or other dangerous
substances.
TOP S4 ANTIRADICE root resistant grade
membranes are ideal for waterproofing
applications involving contact with soil
and plants, including roof gardens, under-
ground parking garages, and planters.

MULTIHOLES S/40 membrane is loose-
laid under the subsequent waterproofing
ply, which is then bonded to it only at the
points established by the spaced holes.
Benefits are as follows:
• Spot-bonded waterproofing mem-

substrate settling more uniformly.
This reinforcing mat ensures that
mechanical strength is significantly high-
er than that of the products normally

absolutely gas-tight.
SICURBAR’s radon impermeability is cer-
tified by tests carried out by CSI of Bollate

In addition, SICURBAR membranes

SCHERMO Series COLD FLEXIBILITY –5°C

Product description
Non-breathing prefabricated membrane
produced by co-extruding a special
vapor-tight bitumen-polymer compound.
SCHERMO Series membranes are pro-
duced in two versions, SCHERMO W 25
with glass tissue reinforcing mat, and
SCHERMO PE 25 with non-woven stabi-
lized polyester fabric reinforcing mat.Both
versions feature a talc treated upper face.
The lower face, which bonds to the sub-
strate, is coated with TERMOTENE film,
which facilitates application and improves
membrane adhesion to the substrate to
be waterproofed. SCHERMO Series
membranes are supplied in taped rolls,
each accompanied by a Quality Control
Certificate. They comply with CE marking

ADEVAPOR 35 Series COLD FLEXIBILITY –15°C

Product description
Prefabricated membranes produced by
co-extruding a special high-density
vapor-tight bitumen-polymer com-
pound.
ADEVAPOR 35 membranes are available
in three versions: W35, with a glass tis-
sue reinforcing mat, ST 35, with a non-
woven polyester fiber reinforcing mat
featuring lengthwise glass fibers to
improve dimensional stability, and AL
35, with a reinforced glass tissue mat
laminated to an aluminum foil layer that
effectively blocks all vapor ingress.
For all ADEVAPOR 35 versions, both
faces are treated with the proprietary
TEXTENE® finish, a special preformed
textured polymer fiber film which,
together with the vapor-tight compound,
enhances the product and improves
adhesion, ensuring that it can be flame-
bonded directly to the exposed surfaces
of compatible insulation board.
On the upper face, the TEXTENE® finish
is green to provide a signal layer which
facilitates insulation board installation.
ADEVAPOR 35 Series membranes They
comply with CE marking requirements,
and contain no asbestos, tar or other
dangerous substances.
Recommended uses
ADEVAPOR membranes are specifically
designed for use as a vapor shield (W 35
and ST 35) or a total vapor barrier (AL 35
version) in built-up waterproofing systems.
In addition, all ADEVAPOR versions can
be used as an intermediate ply in flame-
bonding compatible insulation board.
With ADEVAPOR 35 membranes, insu-
lating board can be bonded directly to
the membrane without using additional
adhesives of any kind, simply by heating
the membrane’s upper face with a
propane torch.
Continue heating until the green signal
layer is completely burnt off, exposing
the black surface.

could not be used on combustible substra-
tes such as wood and synthetic insulation
or in other areas where open-flame tor-
