Update manual 1. Activate the user interface of the inverter.
2. Log in as Installer.
3. Select the menu Device Configuration.
4. In the inverter row, click on the gear icon and select Update firmware.
5. Select the update package made available for the inverter and select
Update firmware.
6. Follow the instructions in the dialog.
Instructions to activate New Installation via integrated Webserver:
dynamic limitation Requirements:
Inverter Firmware: ≥ 1.03.03R

 Start installation assistant of inverter integrated Webserver

 Select Energy Meter (Step 4)
 Grid management service configuration (Step 5)
 Activate “Feed-in management at the grid-connection point”
 Adjust allowed Feed in Power in Watt or in percent of the installed kWP-Power

 Activate System control and power limitation

 IMPORTANT: Please Note, the following inverter-settings are required, these settings
 are different to existing SMA-Products. The settings must be the following:
o operating mode Active Power: “Act. power lim. via PV system ctrl”
o the Grid disconnection for 0% feeding must be set to No

To reach the fastest reaction time in case of power curtailment SMA

recommends to change the following setting:
Active power gradient must be set to the value 9%
Select Device Parameter and change the Parameter under the following path:
device control/Inverter/Active power gradient
Set parameter to 9%

Existing Installation: Via Sunny Portal

Requirements:
Inverter Firmware: ≥ 1.03.03R
o Energy-Meter already installed and selected
o “Act. power lim. via PV system ctrl”

Activation of dynamic grid curtailment in Sunny Portal

o Select Parameter-Dashboard of the inverter in Sunny Portal:

Path: Configuration/PV system properties/parameters
o Activate “Limiting of the active power feed-in”
o Adjust allowed Feed in Power in Watt or in percent of the installed kWP-
Power
 

Note  The package includes an update file (*.up2). The file can be downloaded
directly to the inverter through its Webserver interface using a smartphone
or notebook.
 The update file contains all features of former firmware versions.
