Subject: Question Papers of SSC ( Class 9th & 10th ) Annual Examination 2018

Your good self is informed that the Provincial Government, Elementary & Secondary
Education Department (E&SE) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is working on improvement in education
system through different initiatives. One of them is improvement in teaching and learning
process through better assessment & evaluation. It is the need of the hour to divert the students
from traditional rote learning & memorization and turn them towards conceptual learning,
understanding and critical thinking. It will enable the students to focus on conceptual learning
rather than rote learning.

In this respect improvement in the contents of questions in the papers of class 9th and
10th shall be made, with effect from the forthcoming Annual Examination 2018. The questions
shall be based on SLO from the National Curriculum 2006, however it shall not be copied from
the exercises of text book as was practiced in past.

You are requested to inform teachers of your school to teach according to the SLOs and
prepare their students on the above lines. It will be more appropriate if proper papers are set for
home exams in the light of modern technique. The BISE Peshawar will soon to upload model
papers on these subjects on its website to facilitate the students & the teachers.
