B Alan: What’s your neighborhood like, Alison?
Listen to Ken, Luis, and Alison talk about their
neighborhoods. Do they have these things in their
neighborhoods? Check Yes or No.
Ken
Alan: What’s your neighborhood like, Ken?
Ken: I live way out in the suburbs. It’s a nice
neighborhood, I guess. There are lots of families with
kids. But it’s very new, so there isn’t much there yet.
Alan: Really?
Ken: Yeah, there are no good restaurants, just a couple
of cafés.
Alan: What about shopping?
Ken: We have to go to town to shop. I don’t like that.
We don’t have anything like a department store. And
there’s no supermarket, just a couple of small

Alison: It’s OK.
Alan: Are there any restaurants nearby?
Alison: Not really. There’s one small café, but you can
pick up food at the supermarket. There’s a great
supermarket very close to where I live.
Alan: That’s nice. How about shopping?
Alison: Well, there are a few small stores at a
neighborhood shopping center, but I don’t like them
much. They sell clothes and things, but they’re not
very good. We really need a good department store or
some better shops.
Alan: How about a drugstore?
Alison: Yeah, there are a couple of drugstores.
Alan: Do you like living there?
Alison: Yes, I do. It’s very clean and quiet. There isn’t
any traffic noise, and there’s no pollution.
