Come and Rediscover Our School!

Prof. Anghel Camelia Luminiţa-Liceul Tehnologic Meserii şi Servicii Buzău

'Come and Rediscover Our School' consisted in a partnership between Liceul Tehnologic Meserii si
Servicii from Buzau and 2 course providers, F+U Saxony from Chemnitz, Germany and Sistema
Practices s.l. (Esmovia) from Valencia, Spain for a period of 1 year. Within this project, 10 teachers
of our school participated in 2 training courses in order to attain the aim of our project: increasing
the quality of education in Liceul Tehnologic Meserii si Servicii by diversifying the teaching-
learning methods using ICT in class and modern methods of motivating students and improve the
atmosphere in class.
1. In the course ' Improving Student Motivation and Classroom Atmosphere in Schools ' (Valencia,
Spain),
lasting 5 days, there were 5 teachers in all the 4 areas of the school curriculum who participated in
(1 teacher from the curricular area of language and communication, 1 teacher in the area of
technology, 1 teacher in the human and social field and 2 teachers in the field of mathematics and
sciences), 06-10.02.2017;
2. In the course ' Using modern teaching and learning in the classroom via Methods ICT tools'
(Chemnitz, Germany), a 5-day course, there were 5 teachers in all the 4 areas of the school
curriculum who participated in (2 teachers from the curricular area of the language and
communication, 1 teacher of technology, one teacher in human and social field and 1 teacher in
mathematics and science), 01-05.05.2017.
8 teachers out of 10 have the didactic degree 1 and 2 teachers the didactic degree 2. Following the
discussion with the two partners, the course organizers, a programme of the activities that were
carried out during the two training courses was finalized, the activities being carried out in
accordance with the needs of our school. Prior to the mobility, the 10 participants benefited from a
training on 3 modules: general, linguistics, pedagogical and cultural training. The language of the
two training courses was English. At the end of the mobility, the 10 participants received a training
certificate provided by the course organizer and the Europass mobility document.
The participation of the 10 teachers in the two structured courses led to the achievement of the
project objectives:
1) Improving teaching-learning methods through classroom use of ICT tools to 10 teachers from all
Curricula;
2) Training the teachers in all curricular areas to motivate students and improve the classroom
atmosphere by using games and modern methods that lead to a decrease in absenteeism of the
school students;
3) Improving the English-speaking skills of a total of 10 teachers belonging to all curricular areas as
a result of their participation in the two training courses.
At the project level, the following activities were carried out: appointment of the project
management team, presentation of the project to the teachers’ meeting in October 2016,
arrangement of the project presentation board, selection announcement and selection criteria, the
appointment of the selection team and the selection of the teachers participating in mobility,
negotiation of training agreements for the 10 participants, with the two partners, preparation of
participants in mobility, mobility organization, mobility monitoring and evaluation of the whole
project and teachers participating in mobility and dissemination of mobility results.
The impact on the 10 participants in mobility: the knowledge and use of modern methods that
motivate students to attend classes and improve the atmosphere in class and by using IT tools,
communication skills in English, teamwork, improved skills in using the computer, and increased
interest in making projects at European level.
The Iimpact on students in the classes where modern methods have been applied: improved student
attendance at courses, attention and high motivation, and development of teamwork skills.
At the school level, it was found: increasing the quality of the teaching-learning process by using
modern methods, reducing absenteeism, increasing the prestige of the school, promoting,
developing educational programs, improving the accessibility of European funds and opening up
international projects.
Long-term benefits: reducing the number of young people who drop out of school and increased
insertion on the Buzau labour market, increasing the prestige of the school and attracting students,
expanding the partner network and engaging in European projects.
