REPRESENTATION FOR NON-PROMOTION

Dated: 11.10.2017

This has reference to the Promotion List released on 28th September 2017. I was extremely
disheartened to note that my name was not appearing in list of promotees from level 17 to 18.

As a senior member of Corporate Affairs & CSR Division, I have diligently rendered my services
towards execution and supervision of a wide spectrum of branding and CSR activities, many of them
having interfaces with MoP&NG & other government authorities, lawmakers, eminent personalities
etc. As such, the non-recognition of my efforts has left me emotionally disturbed and left out as
compared to my peers who were elevated.

I believe that I have made significant contribution in my work sphere and would like to highlight the
following for due consideration:

• Since my joining in EIL, I have been rendering my services under challenging situations in
multiple departments and excelled in all areas of activities entrusted to me.
• After serving for 15 years at different construction sites and 5 years at HO- Vigilance, I joined
Corporate Planning in 2013. For last 2 years, I have been assisting DGM (Corporate Affairs)
in discharging all Corporate Communications and Corporate Planning functions besides
leading the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) group.
• As the Head of CSR Group, I have executed a large number of CSR projects which have
played a pivotal role in projecting EIL as a responsible corporate citizen. The projects have
been executed in total compliance of Company’S Act 2013, DPE Guidelines and CSR Policy
and achieving CSR expenditure targets since last three consecutive financial years. CSR
Department has also won several awards/accolades for the Company. One prominent CSR
project is providing a “Mobile Medical Unit” to extend affordable healthcare services to
people residing in remote villages of Odissa.
• I have also been responsible for publicising the Company’s credentials & track record among
its key stakeholders through Advertisements & Sponsorships. These endeavours have not
only enhanced the EIL’s brand image, but have also created tremendous goodwill for the
Company.
• Both the above activities involve requests from VIPs, Hon’ble Members of Parliament etc,
and therefore vindicates my deft interaction skills for conveying the Company’s perspective
to these eminent personalities while adhering to the laid down procedures & budgets.
• I have also been discharging the role of Nodal Officer for a number of flagship initiatives of
GoI such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, MoU with MoP&NG and Public Enterprises Survey
conducted by DPE.
• I am responsible for Internal Coordination activities for arranging inputs for all matters
related to Ministry/ Parliament queries.
• Under my supervision, Quality/Risk Audit was successfully conducted with no NC.
• I was instrumental in maintaining a healthy work environment in the department through
regular interactions with all team members.
• My honesty and integrity for all aspects have been found to be exemplary.
• I have been always receiving very encouraging feedback regarding my performances.

In view of above, I would like to earnestly request to reconsider me for promotion once again.

I am sure Management would favourably consider my request to keep me motivated for rendering
the best of 0services for years ahead.
