Según coinciden los historiadores, podría tener su origen en Europa

Central, quienes acostumbraban usar árboles para representar a varios de
sus Dioses.
Esta cultura, además, coincidiendo con la celebración de la Navidad
cristiana, celebraba el nacimiento de Frey, Dios del Sol y la fertilidad,
adornando un árbol del cual se decía que en su copa se encontraba el cielo
y en sus raíces profundas el infierno.
San Bonifacio, evangelizador de Alemania, fue uno de los promotores de
esta mezcla de costumbres, ya que, cuenta la leyenda, fue quien reemplazó
uno de los árboles que representaba al Dios Odín por un pino para honrar
al Dios cristiano.
Dicho árbol, siguiendo la costumbre, también estaba adornado, pero con
manzanas que representaban el pecado original y con velas que
representan la luz de Jesucristo.
Extendiéndose aún el cristianismo se fueron tomando algunas de estas
tradiciones como propias de esa religión y se adoptó la idea del árbol para
honrar a Cristo.
Finalmente, como dato, cabe señalar que se cree que el primer árbol de
Navidad formal apareció en Alemania en el año 1605, ya con la mayoría
de los elementos que se conocen ahora, y de ahí fue extendiéndose a todo
el mundo cristiano.

SIGNIFICADO RELIGIOSO
El árbol de Navidad recuerda al árbol del Paraíso de cuyos frutos
comieron Adán y Eva, y de donde vino el pecado original; y por lo tanto
recuerda que Jesucristo ha venido a ser Mesías prometido para la
reconciliación. Pero también representa al árbol de la Vida o la vida
eterna, por ser de tipo perenne. La forma triangular del árbol representa a
la Santísima Trinidad.
¿Qué significa cada adorno?
Todo fue cambiando con el paso de los años y aquellas manzanas y velas
del comienzo, hoy se convirtieron en las tradicionales esferas y las
guirnaldas con luces de colores. Esto es lo que no puede faltar en tu árbol.
-Las “bolitas”. Representanlos Dones que Dios les da a los hombres. Las
de color azul simbolizan el arrepentimiento; las rojas, las peticiones; las
doradas, albanzas; y las plateadas, agradecimiento.
Es habitual ponerla en la punta. Ésta representa la fe que guía

-Cintas y moños. Simbolizanla unión familiar y la presencia de nuestras
personas queridas alrededor de todos estos dones.
-Angelitos. Sonlos mensajeros entre nosotros y el cielo y son los
encargados de protegernos, por eso no pueden faltar en tu árbol.
-Las luces. Noimporta el color o si se prenden y se apagan. Ellas tienen un
sentido, y es el de iluminar nuestro camino en la fe.
TIPOS DE ARBOLES
Árboles blancos
Estos varían de tamaño, desde 15 cm de altura a más de 1,8 m. A veces
tienen cadenas mezcladas a lo largo de cada rama, pero más a menudo son
de color blanco puro. Este tipo de árbol tiene múltiples bombillas de
colores.
Abetos
Es el más común y el más tradicional. Éste varía en tamaño desde los 0,3
m a otros 2,1 de altura (mientras más alto es el abeto, más caro es). Estos
están disponibles con luces de una gran variedad de colores, incluyendo
blanco, multicolor, azul y rojo.
Árboles decorados
Este tipo de árbol no sólo viene con las luces conectadas, sino con los
adornos también. Esta es la variedad más cara y también es la más rara.
Muchos de estos árboles también vienen con un adorno especial, por lo
general una estrella. Los adornos utilizados son normalmente de plástico
irrompible, ya que los adornos de vidrio podrían quebrarse y terminar en
la basura.
Árbol navideño verde

Estos árboles navideños quedan muy bien si les colocamos luces blancas,
esferas rojas y los listones dorados. Algunos árboles artificiales de color
verde tienen las puntas en color blanco para parecer la nieve, por eso son
perfectos para decorar los jardines y salas grandes.

Árboles negros

Los arboles negros de Navidad no son tan comunes como los demás, pero
si son uno de los más muy bonitos, ya que al ser negros cualquier adorno
que le pongas luce más vistoso. Estos quedan perfectos si les ponemos
luces azules, blancas, rojas o de colores y quedan mejor con listones
púrpuras, morados, o de cualquier color.

TYPES OF TREES
White trees
