Reading Our class is still working on identifying the theme of short text, poetry,

and song.
Writing Our class is analyzing themes from different short texts, poetry, and
songs in order to be able to compose literary essays to express their
own personal views.
Math Chapter 5: Algebra- The students have been working on concepts for
introduction algebra. We will be wrapping up the chapter next week.
The test will be Friday January, 19.
Science Our Science Unit is Matter and Energy in Organisms and Ecosystems.
We will be looking at how all living organisms on Earth rely on energy
from the Sun.

Welcome Back!
The class had a good week getting back into routines and seeing old friends.
Some news from the classroom is that Hengyi Lui is no longer with us and
Mrs. Giwa (Asanat) has been moved to Pre-K Assistant and Ms. Yasmina
Toure is our assistant now. Ms. Toure is an excellent help in the class and has
been at ICSA for since 2014. I am pleased to welcome her as part of our 5th
Grade team.
