Product Description
Mac Mat ® is a three dimensional mat ideal for erosion protection on Steep Slopes and Embankments,
Rivers, Lakes, Shore Lines, Spillways, Canals and Ditches. It is highly effective on Golf Courses,
Residential Lawn Areas

As soon as the three-dimensional structure of Mac Mat® has been installed, it provides micro stability at
the slope surface and therefore instant protection against soil erosion caused by wind, rain and flash flood-
ing. Mac Mat ® creates an artificial root system by trapping the soil particles, holding them in place and
therefore allowing the vegetation to grow through the Mat for reinforcement. Consequently Mac Mat® helps
nature to develop its own strong green solution for long term erosion protection.

Installation Guidelines

Mac Mat® is packaged in rolls that are easy to ship,

store and install. No heavy equipment is needed for
the installation; a roll can be handled by a single
worker. Following are the main guidelines for a
proper installation of Mac Mat®.

• Grade the slope and fill the scour holes, to

provide a regular surface;
• Anchor trenches are required to securely fasten
the Mac Mat® to the ground surface;

• Unroll the Mac Mat down the slope or channel.
Overlap 3 to 4 inches;
• Shingle the roll in the direction of the water
flow; Install staples down slope.
• Staple pattern will vary depending upon
application, soil type, slope geometry
(see Table – 01). Splicing two ends requires two
rows of staples spaced 1.5x1.5 feet apart.
• Top soiling or Hydro seeding may be required
to accelerate vegetation growth.
