We chose this topic since we thought that this topic is much more enjoyable tahn the others and it

can attract the attention of the students. Also we were skillful enough to explain it completely. Moreover, We
hhought that this topic was suitable for the websites and tools we were given to be used.

While we were planning the unit and lesson plans, we spent most of our time thinking about the
activities in the classroom because we had to be sure about that all the activities serve an appropriate skill. Also
while thinking about the activities in the classroom we had to think about the vocabulary items that the
students will learn from each activity. Furthermore we also took the objectives into considerations because
when we were using ABCD model, we had to use a degree for students, and we couldn’t be sure that can every
students learn it at the same level. While we were determining the prerequisite skills of the students, we
consulted students’ families to learn their previous knowledges about topic, and we read some objectives from
coursebook, and National cirriculum.

We introduced new topic by teaching vocabularies with the help of Prezi, and showing visual
meterials like pictures, presentations to students such as concept maps and infographics. While we were
determining the prerequisite skills of the students we used the National Curriculum for help and our own
experiences from public schools that we were interns. It was really important to know your students’ level, and
different learning styles. We determine our objectives regarding whether this topic is useful for them. While
determinig our objectives we thought what we can use as a tool in classroom and what would be useful and
suitable for 8th grade students. After discussing them, we determined our objectives. In determining. We also
thought the intructional methods, media and materials. We mainly focused on the how our students would
learn, and how which kind of activities we could use in the classroom because a lesson should be integrated
with all skillss and different learning types.That’s why we should support this learning progress with a lot of
different media.. On the other hand, we decided on the methods such as Natural Approach for mostly speaking
skill, The Direct Method for group activities, CLT in additon to games. We used Prezi for a presentation,
Bubbl.us for a concept map, Kioza for an educational video, Kahoot to make quiz in the classroom.. We also
thought that this would make our lessons less boring. We mainly used eclectic approach. We adapted our
teaching methods for our students so that they learn in an easier way compared to the other methods and
approaches. We think that a teacher adapted to his/her student's needs are better than students adapted to
their teacher. Different teaching methods are borrowed and adapted to suit the requirement of the learners.
So we sometimes used Grammar Translation Method, sometimes Natural Approach when we need it. Our
students' needs directed us in selecting or creating our methods.+
We used web tools to utilize the instructional methods we chose. We created a info graphic on easel.ly and we
also created some other graphical tools in the websites we chose. We will teach our students using these
websites and the materials we created by using them. In addition, we used many creative and interesting tools
such as Easel.ly for the students to concentrate much more easily. Lastly, instead of just using GTM(Grammar
Translation Method), we decided to use an eclectic method to compact together the methods we mostly liked
and gave importance in their communication skills.
We wanted to take the speaking activites in the classroom into consideration while evaluating and measuring
the students in addition to the quiz because we think that it is very important to be able to produce and use
the target language in a comunicative way.
