MODERN WARFARE 1

Campaign
Characters
During the single player campaign, the player controls six different characters from a first-person
perspective. The player assumes the role of recent British Special Air Service(SAS) recruit
Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish for most of the game, starting with his enrollment in the 22nd
SAS Regiment.[6] Sergeant Paul Jackson is part of USMC 1st Force Recon deployed to the
Middle East, and the player controls Jackson's character during five levels of Act 1. Captain John
Price (voiced by actor Billy Murray) is an SAS officer who is playable in two flashback missions
from 1996 in which he is still Lieutenant. The player also assumes the role of an American
thermal-imaging TV operator aboard a Lockheed AC-130 gunship during one level, and a British
SAS operative infiltrating a hijacked airliner to save a VIP in a secret level titled "Mile High Club".
Finally, the player may control Yasir Al-Fulani, the president of the unnamed Middle Eastern
country in the game before he is executed, although he has no freedom of action beyond turning
his head.[4][6][7]

The game's non-playable characters (NPCs) feature prominently in the story: Captain Price and
his right-hand man, Gaz (voiced by Craig Fairbrass), serve as mentors to Soap. Jackson's
USMC platoon is led by Lieutenant Vasquez (voiced by David Sobolov) and Staff Sergeant
Griggs (voiced by and modeled after Infinity Ward lead animator Mark Grigsby); Griggs later
accompanies Soap in Russia. Sergeant Kamarov leads the Russian loyalists that aid SAS and
USMC forces. "Nikolai" is a Russian informant who helps the SAS. Captain MacMillan is Price's
mentor and commanding officer during a flashback.

The antagonists in the story include Imran Zakhaev (voiced by Yevgeni Lazarev), the leader of
the Russian ultranationalist party and the main antagonist of the game; Khaled Al-Asad, the
commander of the revolutionary forces in the Middle East and an ally of Imran Zakhaev; and
Victor Zakhaev, the son of Imran Zakhaev and a priority figure in the ultranationalist party.[4]

Plot
In 2011, a civil war has broken out in Russia between its government and ultranationalists who
seek to restore Russia to itsSoviet-era glamor. Meanwhile, a separatist group led by Khaled Al-
Asad seizes power in a "small but oil-rich" country in theMiddle East through a coup d'état. Al-
Asad is ruthless and has extreme anti-Western views, which prompts the United States to invade
the country. In the afternoon of the second day of invasion, a platoon of USMC 1st Force
Recon is sent to capture Al-Asad. The platoon attacks a TV station in which Al-Asad was thought
to be broadcasting live and then engages in urban combat in an unnamed city south of the
capital. In the meantime, the British Special Air Service (SAS) conducts two important
operations, one on a ship in the Bering Strait and one in Russia. Intelligence gathered from the
two missions indicates that Al-Asad may be in possession of a Russian nuclear device.

In evening of the third day, the U.S. launches a full-scale assault on Al-Asad's presidential palace
in spite of the SAS warning about the possible nuclear device. As U.S. Navy SEALs invade the
palace, the Marines engage Al-Asad's ground forces. The assault, however, ends in catastrophe
when the nuclear device suddenly detonates, wiping out most of the city along with everyone in
it.

Refusing to assume Al-Asad dead, a SAS strike team supported by Russian loyalists attacks a
potential safe house in a village in Azerbaijan. Led by Captain Price, the strike team eradicates
the occupying Russian forces and capture Al-Asad. Shortly into the interrogation, Al-Asad's
phone rings. After hearing the voice of the caller, Captain Price executes Al-Asad and reveals
that the caller was the leader of the ultranationalists: Imran Zakhaev.

Captain Price tells the story of a mission in Pripyat, Ukraine in 1996. In the aftermath of
the Chernobyl disaster and the collapse of the Soviet Union, Zakhaev took advantage of the
turmoil to profit from nuclear proliferation and used his new wealth to lure soldiers from the Soviet
Army to form his ultranationalist party. Price was sent on a black
operationto assassinate Zakhaev. From his vantage point on the top floor of an abandoned hotel,
Price fired upon Zakhaev with a Barrett M82 sniper rifle, but the shot only severed Zakhaev's
arm. Price barely escaped Zakhaev's henchmen.

The SAS, the Marines and the Loyalists attempt to capture Zakhaev's son, Victor, to learn
Zakhaev's whereabouts but as they corner him on the roof of an apartment building, Victor
commits suicide. Enraged, Zakhaev retaliates by launching nuclear intercontinental ballistic
missiles at the U.S. Eastern Seaboard, which could kill 41 million people. The SAS and the
Marines, however, manage to seize the launch facility's command room and remotely destroy the
missiles over the Atlantic Ocean. They escape the facility in military trucks with Zakhaev's forces
in hot pursuit.

An ultranationalist Mi-24 Hind helicopter destroys a vital bridge and traps the joint force. The
ensuing fight with ultranationalists leaves everyone in the joint force either dead or severely
wounded. Zakhaev himself arrives and begins killing wounded soldiers when loyalists suddenly
destroy his Mi-24 Hind and join the fray. Zakhaev is shot dead. Loyalist forces start tending to the
wounded immediately.

In the outro, the missiles incident and the ultranationalists' support of Al-Asad are hushed up,
thus causing the events of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
MODERN WARFARE 2
Campaign
Characters
During the singleplayer campaign, the player controls five different characters over the course of
seven days. The player begins the game controlling Private First Class Joseph Allen (voiced
by Troy Baker), a U.S. Army Ranger stationed in Afghanistan, who later goes undercover
in Russia for the Central Intelligence Agency under the alias of "Alexei Borodin", and is killed. For
the majority of the game, however, the player assumes the role of Sergeant Gary "Roach"
Sanderson, a member of an elite special forces unit known as Task Force 141.[20] Private James
Ramirez, a member of 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment stationed in the United States,
serves as the player character during the defense of the Eastern Seaboard against the Russian
invasion. Captain John "Soap" MacTavish[21] becomes the player's character in the final three
missions after Roach dies. The player also briefly assumes the role of an unnamed International
Space Station astronaut moments before the station's destruction.[22]

Several non-playable characters (NPCs) play prominent roles in the story. As mentioned, "Soap"
(voiced by Kevin McKidd) returns as an NPC for a majority of the game. In the five years
since Call of Duty 4 took place, he has become a senior member of Task Force 141, acting as
Roach's superior officer.[5] Captain Price (voiced by Billy Murray) also assists Task Force 141
after "Soap", "Roach" and other members rescue him from a Russian gulag. Another member of
the unit is Lieutenant Simon "Ghost" Riley, (voiced byCraig Fairbrass, the voice actor of Gaz
in Call of Duty 4)[23] who conceals his face with a skull print balaclava.[24] Sergeant Foley (voiced
by Keith David), along with his subordinate, Corporal Dunn (voiced by Barry Pepper), is initially
Joseph Allen's squad leader while stationed in Afghanistan, and becomes James Ramirez's
squad leader during the Russian invasion of the U.S. later in the story. Nikolai, the Russian
informant from Call of Duty 4 aids Task Force 141. Lieutenant General Shepherd (voiced
by Lance Henriksen) is the commander of Task Force 141, the U.S. Army Rangers; he is
revealed as the main antagonist after he betrays Task Force 141 near the end of the game.
Vladimir Makarov is an antagonist masterminding the Russian invasion who is sought throughout
the game but is never fought. The player fights Makarov's forces in two missions near the end of
the campaign.

Plot
Despite the efforts of the U.S. Marine Corps and British Special Air Service in the previous game,
the ultranationalists seize control of the Russian Federation, making Imran Zakhaev a martyr and
straining diplomatic relations with the United States. Shortly after this, an ultranationalist named
Vladimir Makarov, Zakhaev's right-hand man, begins a campaign of revenge against the West,
by committing acts of terrorism on European and International soil.
Five years after the events of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, in 2016, Private First Class Joseph
Allen participates in a military operation alongside the U.S. Army Rangers, stationed in
Afghanistan, by assisting them in taking back a city from insurgents. Impressed by Allen's
capabilities, Lieutenant General Shepherd, who oversaw the operation, recruits him into the Task
Force 141 – an elite, multi-national counter-terrorist unit under Shepherd's command. While Allen
is prepared for an upcoming assignment, two other 141 members, Captain John "Soap"
Mactavish and Sgt. Gary "Roach" Sanderson, infiltrate a Russian airbase in the Tian
Shan mountains to retrieve an Attack Characterization System (ACS) module from a downed
American satellite, narrowly escaping capture.

Allen is soon sent on an undercover mission in Russia for the CIA, joining Makarov in a mass
shooting at an airport in Moscow. After escaping the main lobby of the airport and defeating the
security forces and even fighting an F.S.B squad on the tarmac, Makarov, who has been aware
of Allen's true identity, kills him during extraction, leaving his body behind to spark a war between
the Russian Federation and the United States. Outraged by what was believed to be an
American-sponsored terrorist attack, Russia retaliates by launching a surprise invasion on
the East Coast of the United States after bypassing its early warning system, triggering the war
between Russia and United States as the military forces in the mainland are scattered to defend
against the invasion.[a][22]

Because the evidence of Makarov's involvement in the airport massacre died with Allen, Task
Force 141 is sent to a favela in Rio de Janeiro to capture Makarov's weapons dealer, based on
intel on the weapons used at the airport. There, after capturing the dealer, they learn that
Makarov's worst enemy, known only as "Prisoner 627", is incarcerated in a Russian gulag east
of Petropavlovsk. Task Force 141 assaults the prison and manages to free 627, who is revealed
to be Captain Price.[b]

Price agrees to aid the 141, but insists that the war in America needs to end. He leads the 141 to
raid a Russian port and gain control of a ballistic missile submarine. Once inside the vessel,
Price launches a ballistic missile towards Washington, D.C. and sets its nuclear warhead to
detonate in the upper atmosphere. The resulting EMP disables all electronic devices across
the eastern seaboard, leaving Russian and American forces without logistics, tanks or air
support, but giving the Americans a much needed advantage.[25] U.S. National Command
Authority stationed in Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center sends the U.S. Air Force to bomb
Russian-occupied strategic structures(including the White House) across Washington D.C. but
the strikes are aborted, when green flares are lit on top of these structures, showing that the
Americans have recaptured them and that the city remains in American hands.[22]

Meanwhile, the 141 narrows down Makarov's hiding place to two separate locations, with the
group splitting up; Price and Soap travel to an aircraft boneyard in Afghanistan to intercept a
suspected Makarov arms deal, while Roach and Ghost raid Makarov's safehouse on
the Georgian-Russian border. At the safehouse, Roach and his team obtain Makarov's
"operations playbook" and escape. However, when they reach the extraction point, Shepherd
betrays them by shooting them with his .44 Magnum and then orders their bodies burned. Price
and Soap, already aware of Shepherd's betrayal, escape a battle between Shepherd's Shadow
Company and Makarov's Ultra-nationalist forces with help from surviving Task Force 141
personnel, but are branded as terrorists as a result.

It is revealed that General Shepherd had been conspiring with Makarov to spark the war between
Russia and the U.S. with the intent of generating a massive wave of American enlistment and
drafting along with defense spending and production in a time of emergency. Shepherd allegedly
provided the ACS to the Russian forces to be compromised, provided Allen to Makarov as a
scapegoat, and eventually managed to secure a blank check from the government to fund his
war effort.

During the escape, Price contacts Makarov on an open radio channel, where Makarov reluctantly
reveals Shepherd's mountain base in Afghanistan. Price and Soap raid the base in an attempt to
take revenge on Shepherd in a suicide mission; during the infiltration, Shepherd sets the base to
self-destruct and attempts to escape on a boat, with Price and Soap pursuing him. At the climax
of a boat pursuit, Shepherd sails into an MH-53 Pave Low, but Price shoots it down as he and
Soap tumble over a waterfall.[22] A dazed Soap stumbles towards the crash of the helicopter,
where it is revealed that Shepherd had survived. Soap follows Shepherd and attempts to kill him,
but Shepherd stabs him in the chest. Price arrives and engages Shepherd in a hand-to-hand
fight. Shepherd slowly gains the upper hand on Price, but Soap manages to pull the knife out of
his own chest and throw it back at Shepherd, piercing the general's left eye and killing him. In the
aftermath, Price helps evacuate Soap for medical attention, in which his closest ally, Nikolai,
reveals he knows somewhere safe.

MODERN WARFARE 3
Campaign
Characters
The game sees the return of former Task Force 141 Cpt. John "Soap" MacTavish (voiced
by Kevin McKidd), former S.A.S. Cpt. John Price (Billy Murray) and Russian informant "Nikolai",
who are on the run after killing the rogue U.S. Army Lt. General Shepherd, the main antagonist
of the previous game. However, for most of the game, the player will control Yuri (Brian Bloom),
an ex-Spetsnaz,[24][non-primary source needed] who joins Price on his hunt for Russian Ultranationalist leader
Vladimir Makarov (Roman Varshavsky). Makarov returns as the game's main antagonist,[25] and
has a new contact named "Volk", a Russian bombmaker in Paris, France. Several new playable
characters have been added, including: Delta Force operative Sgt. Derek "Frost"
Westbrook; S.A.S. Sgt. Marcus Burns; and Andrei Harkov, a Russian federal security agent
tasked with protecting the Russian President. Just like President Al-Fulani in the first game, Soap
is only "playable" during the game's opening sequence; while Price becomes the player
character in the game's final mission, Dust to Dust. The player also takes brief control of a
civilian tourist in London, seconds before he and his family are killed by a chemical agent; as well
as an AC-130 TV Operator during Team Metal's escape from Paris in the mission Iron Lady.

New non-player characters (NPCs) include: Delta Force operatives "Sandman" (William
Fichtner),[26][27] "Truck" (Idris Elba), and "Grinch" (Timothy Olyphant), who serve as Frost's
squadmates. Captain MacMillan returns from Call of Duty 4 to provide the 141 with critical
intelligence. Craig Fairbrass, who originally voiced the characters Gaz andGhost, returns to
voice SAS operative Sergeant Wallcroft, who originally had a minor role in the first Modern
Warfare.[28]

Plot
Several hours after killing General Shepherd, Price and Nikolai evacuate critically wounded Soap
to a Russian loyalist safe-house in Himachal Pradesh, Northern India, but soon discover that the
ultranationalist terrorist from the previous game Makarov has sent forces out to their position to
kill them. Yuri, an ex-Spetsnaz operative with a common grudge against Makarov, assists them
in providing a safe extraction from the region. Meanwhile, the war between Russia and the
United States concludes when a Delta Force team, call-signed Metal, manages to blow up the
Russian broad spectrum jamming tower on top of the Wall Street Stock Exchange, allowing US
forces to consolidate and launch a coordinated ground attack. As the Russians forces lose
ground, Metal joins forces with a SEAL team to raid an Oscar-class submarine acting as the
Russian flagship, successfully capturing the submarine's bridge and redirecting its entire payload
of missiles to target the Russian fleet, successfully repelling Russian Forces in New York
City and forcing an emergency withdrawal from the East Coast.

Two months later, Makarov stages a coup d'état by hijacking a plane en route
to Hamburg containing the Russian President, Boris Vorshevsky, to derail Vorshevsky's plans of
negotiating a peace treaty with the United States. In the midst of the plane crashing, members of
the F.S.O. attempt to secure Vorshevsky, but are killed by Makarov and his men when they
attempt extraction by helicopter. Makarov reveals his plans to the president for Russia's future -
he intends to have Russia control the whole of Europe, using the country's nuclear arsenal as a
show of force. Vorshevsky refuses to give over the nuclear launch codes, leaving Makarov no
choice but to locate his weakness: Vorshevsky's daughter, Alena. To ensure his plan succeeds,
Makarov has chemical bombs transported from Sierra Leone into Europe, where they are planted
into every major city in NATO affiliated countries on the continent, detonating them, despite the
efforts of an SAS team trying to prevent this from happening in London. The attacks cripple the
intelligence networks and special forces bases in Europe, including the GIGN barracks at Satory
and the American Ramstein base in Germany, allowing the Russians to invade much of the
continent, which in turn prompts the U.S. to send in forces to counter-attack the invasion. During
this, Price's team get a lead from his former commanding officer leading them toSomalia, and
learn through torturing the leader of a terrorist group the identity of the bomb maker as Volk, the
CEO of Fregata Industries, who transported the bombs. Metalreceives his location from Price
shortly afterwards, and manage to capture and extract him from Paris with the help of GIGN and
other U.S. forces, though the battle in Paris, causes the Eiffel Tower to collapse.

Metal sends info to Price's team on Makarov's location, leading them to Prague. With the
assistance of loyalist Russian forces and Czech Republic partisans, Price's team attempts to
assassinate Makarov; however, Makarov knows of this and thwarts the attempt, attempting to kill
Price and his men. Soap is mortally wounded as a result, but not before he hears Makarov
mention that Yuri knows him well. Soap passes on what Makarov told him before succumbing to
his wounds despite efforts by Price to get him medical attention. Price, still enraged over Soap's
death, punches Yuri, causing Yuri to fall down a flight of stairs to the basement and forces Yuri,
at gunpoint, to reveal what Makarov meant. Yuri reveals that he was a former ultra-nationalist
who worked alongside Makarov during the arms deal in Pripyat when they helped evacuate
Imran Zakhaev after the assassination attempt on him and later became Makarov's right-hand
man. Although Yuri thought he was following a good cause, the detonation of a nuclear device in
the Middle East sickened him, leading him into an attempt at stopping the airport
massacre in Moscow by alerting the local authorities but Makarov, aware of his actions, shot him
and left him for dead in the lower parking lot. Yuri somehow survived the gunshot wound and
crawled into an elevator leading to the main lobby of the airport, where Makarov and his men
have begun their massacre. Yuri uses a dead guard's pistol in an attempt to kill Makarov but fell
unconscious due to his wounds. He was eventually found by the arriving emergency
authorities.[29][non-primary source needed] Yuri's guilt-ridden vengeance barely convinces Price in maintaining
their alliance.

After infiltrating Makarov's castle headquarters near Prague, and learning of the state of
President Vorshevsky's captivity, Price alerts Metal that Alena's location at a safehouse
inBerlin has been discovered. Despite launching a rescue operation to recover her, Alena is
abducted before Metal can reach her position, but the chopper she is taken in is tracked back to
Vorshevsky's location. Metal leads a joint task force with Price and Yuri to a Siberian diamond
mine where they manage to secure and rescue the Vorshevsky family; however, during
extraction, three Metal operatives - Sandman, Truck, and Grinch - are killed when they stay
behind in the collapsing mine to ensure that Price and the Vorshevskys can escape.[30][non-primary source
needed]
With the Russian president secured, all Russian forces are ordered to withdraw from
Europe, thus ending the hostility between the United States and Russia.

Three months after the war ends, Price and Yuri finally manage to track down Makarov to a hotel
in Dubai, UAE. Armed with heavy equipment including EOD armor popularly known in the game
as a Juggernaut Suit, and with the assistance of Nikolai hacking into the video surveillance and
electronic systems of the building, the pair assault the hotel and reach the top of the building as
Makarov awaits an incoming helicopter to extract him. When Yuri is critically injured, he tells
Price to continue on his own. Price prevents Makarov from leaving by crashing his helicopter into
the roof of the hotel. Makarov survives, and prepares to execute an exhausted, injured, and
dazed Price with a Desert Eaglebut is shot by Yuri, who is promptly killed by Makarov in return.
Enraged, Price tackles Makarov, gaining the upper hand on him before tying a steel cable around
his neck and breaking them through the glass roof of the hotel, hanging the ruthless terrorist.
Victorious, Price smokes his trademark cigar while waiting for the local police force's arrival.

CALL OF DUTY : WORLD AT WAR

Synopsis
Characters
During the single-player campaign, the player controls three different characters from a first-
person perspective. The player first assumes the role of Private C. Miller of theUnited States
Marine Corps' 1st Marine Division in the Pacific campaign. He is captured by the Japanese, but
is rescued by Corporal Roebuck (voiced by Kiefer Sutherland) and his men from the Marine
Raiders squad, during the Makin Island raid. Other notable non-playable characters of the Marine
Raiders unit include Sergeant Tom Sullivan (voiced by Chris Fries) and Private Polonsky (voiced
by Aaron Stanford).[13] Private Dimitri Petrenko, the second playable character, fights on
the Eastern Front with Sergeant Viktor Reznov(voiced by Gary Oldman). They are joined by a
third character, Private Chernov, Reznov's subordinate, who serves as a voice of reason
throughout the campaign and regularly voices shock and disapproval at the brutal slaughter he
regularly witnesses. They are all soldiers in the 3rd Shock Army under the command of
Commissar Markhov.[13] The third playable character in the campaign is Petty Officer Locke, a
weapons operator on a PBY Catalina flying boat, who is only playable in the mission "Black
Cats" during a solo campaign.[13]

Plot
The story begins on Makin Island on August 17, 1942. American Marine Private C. Miller
watches the torture and execution of his team, and is about to be executed himself before being
rescued by another squad of Marines, led by Corporal Roebuck and Sergeant Tom Sullivan.
They assault the Japanese on the island, replicating the Makin Island raid. The Battle of
Peleliu is then replicated. After breaking through the Japanese lines on the Peleliu beach, Miller
destroys two Type 97 Chi-Ha tanks with rocket strikes, allowing the American tanks to advance.
At the end of the mission, Sullivan is killed by a Japanese officer with a katana. Roebuck is
promoted to Sergeant and he and his squad make their way through the Peleliu swamps to
launch an assault on a Japanese-held airfield to disable anti-aircraft guns. During the assault,
Miller acquires a flamethrower to destroy a bunker and a bazooka to blow up the Chi-Has
positioned at the airfield.[13]

Meanwhile, the Battle of Stalingrad is held on the Eastern Front on September 17, 1942. Russian
Private Dimitri Petrenko regains consciousness in a blood-stained and body-filled fountain, just
as German troops execute his comrades. When they leave, Dimitri meets injured Sergeant Viktor
Reznov, another survivor, who tells him of his mission to kill German general Heinrich Amsel,
who is responsible for the massacres. After killing German soldiers in their way and a duel with
an enemy sniper, Dimitri follows Reznov through buildings and streets and they meet up with the
remainder of Dimitri's unit, who are about to assault the General's communication post. During
the assault, Dimitri provides overwatch with Reznov and aid the remaining Red Army soldiers
recapture the post and manages to kill Amsel as he flees. Dimitri and Reznov jump into the Volga
River and escape. The next mission takes place three years later, during the Battle of the Seelow
Heights, near Berlin. Dimitri has been captured by German soldiers in an abandoned house, but
is saved when the Red Army attacks the house and he is re-united with Reznov and introduced
to his right-hand-man Pvt. Chernov. The Soviet troops advance through German lines and Dimitri
aids them with a Panzerschreck until they reach and wipe out a German camp.[13]

America then battles Japan in the Pacific Theater. After pushing further inland on Peleliu, Miller
and his unit take out enemy mortar crews so their tanks can go inland. They then proceed
through the Japanese underground tunnels to attack the artillery-filled Point, one of the major
Japanese strongholds that had destroyed many landing boats when they first landed. This allows
American ships to advance, and Peleliu finally falls into American hands.[13]

Back in Eastern Europe, Dimitri and Reznov pilot T-34 tanks pushing through German lines so
the Soviet troops can board a train to Berlin. Upon arrival, they engage German soldiers on the
outskirts of Berlin, commencing the Battle of Berlin. They then advance through the streets,
eventually reaching the entrance to the Berlin U-Bahn, where three German soldiers are
attempting to surrender. Reznov is unwilling to deny his men their revenge and gives Dimitri the
choice of shooting them or burning them alive with molotov cocktails. They head into the U-Bahn
and start fighting German soldiers around the platforms, until a surge of water fills the tunnel and
Dimitri, unable to avoid the oncoming tidal wave, almost drowns.[13]

After American gains Peleliu, the Battle of Okinawa occurs on the Pacific, where the Petty Officer
Locke, in a PBY Catalina flying boat, takes part in a raid on three merchant ships. On their way
back to base, another Catalina, codenamed Hammerhead, is destroyed by Japanese Zeroes,
leaving Locke and his crew alone. The US fleet is assaulted, replicating Operation Ten-Go.
Locke's PBY, the only PBY near enough to come to immediate aid, works to rescue as many
American sailors as possible by fighting off Japanese PT boats and kamikaze planes. With the
PBY almost completely destroyed, more US aircraft arrive and drive off the remaining Zeroes. In
the following mission, Miller's squad makes a ground assault on Okinawa, clearing out the
Japanese from machine gun bunkers to allow American tanks to progress. With the battle almost
won, the Americans storm Shuri Castle amidst mortar shelling and massive banzai charges.
Once inside, they encounter Japanese soldiers surrendering. However, when Roebuck and
Polonsky go to search them, they reveal concealed grenades under their clothes, at which point
Miller is presented with the choice of saving either Roebuck or Polonsky. The remaining
American troops arrive to assist the squad and engage the remaining Japanese soldiers in a
battle in the castle center. After Miller calls in air strikes on two buildings, the Americans take
Shuri Castle, crushing the last bastion of Japanese resistance in the Pacific War.[13]

Meanwhile, Reznov drags Dimitri out of the U-Bahn to regroup with Soviet infantry. The Red
Army then advances towards the Reichstag. During the assault at the Reichstag's entrance,
Chernov is severely burned by a flamethrower, and is implied to be killed. Reznov, Dimitri and
the remaining Soviet soldiers enter the Reichstag, clear it of its German defenders, and reach the
rooftop. After a final showdown on the top floor to reach the Nazi flag, Dimitri is shot by a dying
German soldier in an attempt to stop him from planting the Soviet flag, but Reznov kills the
German with a machete. Although wounded, Dimitri manages to plant the Soviet flag, signaling
Soviet victory and ending the war in Europe.[13]

BLACK OPS 1
Plot
Single-player
Characters and setting

Call of Duty: Black Ops takes place during the 1960s in the Cold War, around 20 years after the
events of World at War. It focuses on CIAclandestine black operations carried out behind enemy
lines. Missions take place in various locations around the globe such as the Ural Mountains in
eastern USSR, Kazakhstan in central USSR, Cuba, Hong Kong, Laos, South Vietnam, the Arctic
circle and Siberia. The single-player campaign revolves around an experimental chemical
weapon codenamed "Nova-6".

The main protagonist the player controls is SAD/SOG special forces operative Alex Mason,
occasionally CIA agent Jason Hudson, and some other characters are playable to progress the
story. Alex is often joined by fellow operatives Frank Woods and Joseph Bowman, while Jason
teams up with Grigori Weaver, a Russian-born field operative. Viktor Reznov, a key character
from the Soviet campaign inWorld at War, returns along with that game's Russian protagonist
Dimitri Petrenko also making an appearance. Black Ops also features several historical figures:
during the story Mason meets John F. Kennedy, Robert McNamara, and Fidel Castro.

Story[edit]

On February 25, 1968, SAD operative Alex Mason is strapped to a chair in an interrogation room,
bombarded with questions by his unseen captors about the location of anumbers station. Mason
then recalls several events, as an attempt to answer their questions.

In 1961, Mason, Woods, and Bowman take part in Operation 40 to assassinate Fidel
Castro in Cuba during the Bay of Pigs Invasion. Mason apparently succeeds and stays behind to
protect the extraction plane from an oncoming blockade, before being captured by the real
Castro, having shot a double. Handed over to General Nikita Dragovich to be held captive
at Vorkuta Gulag, Mason befriends inmate and former Red Army soldier Viktor Reznov. Reznov
recounts to Mason the identities of his enemies, the same people involved in Mason’s torture:
Nikita Dragovich, his right-hand man Lev Kravchenko, and ex-Nazi scientist Friedrich Steiner,
who defected to the Soviet Union.
In October 1945, Reznov and Dimitri Petrenko were sent to extract Steiner from a Nazi base in
the Arctic. Dragovich later betrayed them by testing Steiner's creation, a nerve agent known as
"Nova-6", on Petrenko and other soldiers in a ship. Reznov was spared the same fate
when British commandos, also attempting to acquire Nova-6, attacked the Soviets. During the
confusion, Reznov destroyed the Nova-6 and escaped only to be captured by the Soviets and
sent to the Vorkuta Gulag. However, the Soviets recreated it using Steiner and a British scientist,
Daniel Clarke.

Over a year later, Mason and Reznov spark a prisoner uprising to escape the gulag, but only
Mason escapes and Reznov is captured. One month later, President John F. Kennedy meets
Mason and authorizes a mission to assassinate Dragovich. Mason briefly envisions aiming
his side arm at Kennedy. In November 1963, Mason, Woods, Bowman and Weaver are
dispatched to Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakh SSR to disrupt the Soviet space program and
eliminate members of "Ascension", a Soviet program giving sanctuary to Nazi scientists in
exchange for their knowledge. Weaver is captured and Kravchenko stabs out his left eye. Mason
and his team rescue him and destroy the Soyuzspacecraft, while Woods apparently kills
Dragovich in a car explosion, though Mason believes him to be alive.

In 1968, the team is sent to Vietnam. After defending Khe Sanh, they recover a dossier on
Dragovich from a Russian defector in Hue during the Tet Offensive. Mason finds the defector is
none other than Reznov. They then penetrate Laos to recover a Nova-6 shipment from a downed
Soviet plane. At the crash site the plane collapses and they are captured by Viet
Cong and Spetznaz infiltrators. Bowman is executed, while Woods and Mason hijack an Mi-24
Hind and rescue Reznov at Kravchenko's base before confronting Kravchenko himself. Woods
stabs Kravchenko, gaining the upper hand, but Kravchenko pulls the pins off four grenades
strapped to his chest; Woods sacrifices himself by pushing Kravchenko and himself out a
window. In a huge explosion, Mason presumes the two dead.

Meanwhile, Hudson and Weaver interrogate Clarke in Kowloon Walled City. Clarke reveals the
location of a hidden facility in Mount Yamantau before being killed by Dragovich's men. Hudson
and Weaver move to destroy the facility and receive a transmission from Steiner requesting to
meet at Rebirth Island, as Dragovich has begun killing loose ends. Mason and Reznov head
there to assassinate Steiner at the same time, succeeding just as Hudson and Weaver arrive.
Mason is adamant that Reznov executed Steiner, but Hudson had witnessed Mason carrying out
the act alone.

At this point, Hudson and Weaver are revealed as Mason's interrogators. Dragovich has
communist sleeper cells placed all over the United States which, when ordered by the numbers
broadcast, will release the Nova-6 gas. As a result, the U.S. is preparing a retaliatory strike on
the Soviet Union, which will lead to a full-scale war. Hudson needed Steiner to abort the gas
launch, but after his death, only Mason has any knowledge of the numbers station. Hudson
reveals that Dragovich brainwashed Mason to understand the numbers broadcasts, effectively
making him a Soviet sleeper agent. It is revealed that the real Reznov never escaped, but died
during the Vorkuta break out; and that the Soviet defector in Hue was actually killed before
Mason reached him. Mason’s visions of Reznov are a result of a dissociative disorder caused by
the traumatic brainwashing program. Prior to the Vorkuta breakout, Reznov had secretly met and
reprogrammed Mason to assassinate Dragovich, Kravchenko and Steiner for what they did to
him and for killing Petrenko and his comrades, instead of Mason's original aim to kill the U.S.
President. Mason finally remembers the location of the station: a Russian cargo ship
called Rusalka off the coast of Cuba.

An assault on the Rusalka begins, with Mason and Hudson infiltrating the underwater submarine
and broadcast station protected by the ship, intended to be used for an invasion of the U.S. after
the planned Nova-6 attack. Confirming that the Rusalka is the numbers station, Hudson calls in
the US Navy to destroy the ship and its underwater base. Mason and Hudson finally confront
Dragovich in the lower levels of the facility. Dragovich taunts Mason and hints at his hand in
assassinating Kennedy, but Mason strangles him to death and as the ship sinks he swims out
with Hudson. He gets on a boat, where Weaver tells him that it's over and they won. This is the
last mission in the single player campaign. Archive footage of President Kennedy prior to his
assassination is shown, revealing Mason was in the crowd of onlookers who watched Kennedy
disembark from Air Force One in Lovefield., implicitly suggesting that Mason may have carried
out his initial programming. A hidden message that can be accessed in the game's main menu
reveals that Woods survived the confrontation with Kravchenko and is currently incarcerated in
the Hanoi Hilton.

BLACK OPS 2
Synopsis
Single-player campaign
Characters and setting

The single-player campaign features two connected storylines, with the first set from 1986 to
1989 during the final years of the first Cold War, and the other set in 2025 during a second Cold
War. The protagonist of Black Ops, Alex Mason returns as the protagonist in the first Cold
War section, and chronicles the rise to infamy of the game's primary antagonist, Raul
Menendez,[15] a Nicaraguan narco-terrorist and the leader of "Cordis Die", a populist movement
celebrated as the champion of victims of economic inequality.[citation needed]

The 2025 section of the game features Alex Mason's son David (codenamed Section) as the
protagonist, in which Menendez is plotting against the United States and China with one of his
ultimate goals being to see the United States locked in a new Cold War with China, in revenge
for many of his misfortunes.[16] In this era, wars are defined by robotics, cyberwarfare, unmanned
vehicles, and other futuristic technology.[15][17]
Plot

In 2025, US Special Forces operatives led by David Mason and his partner, Harper, arrive at "the
Vault", a top-security location home to an elderly Frank Woods, whom they suspect possesses
vital information on the whereabouts of Raul Menendez. Woods concedes that Menendez has
recently visited him, and shows them a locket that the latter had left behind. Frank then narrates
several covert missions undertaken during his military career which span their previous
encounters.

In 1986 Alex Mason had effectively retired from active duty to pursue an obscure existence in
Alaska with his son, the seven-year-old David. Their shaky relationship is further strained when
Mason is solicited by Jason Hudson, seeking to recruit him for an assignment in Cuando
Cubango during the height of the Angolan civil and South African Border Wars. Woods had
disappeared with his men while aiding Jonas Savimbi's UNITA rebels against Angola's Marxist
government; their actions have already been disavowed by theCIA and Hudson hopes to rescue
any survivors. With UNITA assistance, Mason and Hudson recover Woods from the Kavango
River, subsequently locating Menendez among a contingent of Cuban military advisers.
However, a firefight breaks out, and their quarry escapes as the Americans are rescued by
Savimbi in a Hind D. It is revealed that Menendez is responsible for holding Woods captive after
murdering his team.

In light of this information, Mason, Woods, and Hudson begin tracking Menendez, who has
established himself as a primary arms dealer for bush conflicts in Southern Africa and Latin
America. Later in the year, the CIA authorizes a strike against the unscrupulous Nicaraguan, now
making a healthy profit running arms across Soviet-occupied Afghanistan. In Afghanistan,
Mason, Woods, and Hudson assist the Mujahideen in their battle against the Soviets, along with
Chinese operative Tian Zhao. Woods and Mason find Lev Kravchenko, who had survived the
grenade incident with Woods in Vietnam, causing Mason to see the numbers and hear the voice
of Viktor Reznov again.

Kravchenko is interrogated by the group and the player is given the option of executing
Kravchenko by Reznov's orders inside Mason's head or resisting and finishing the interrogation.
In the latter scenario, Woods executes Kravchenko after admitting that he associated with
Menendez and that he has men inside the CIA. Regardless of how Kravchenko is killed, the
Mujahideen are revealed to be allied with Menendez, and double-cross Mason, Woods, Hudson,
and Zhao. The four are beaten, tied, and left for dead in the middle of the desert, unconscious
until rescued by two unknown civilians, one of whom Mason believed to be Reznov.

At this point, Menendez's motive for his seemingly senseless vendetta against the West become
clear: his beloved sister, Josefina, was grievously injured in an act of arson committed by
American businessmen for insurance money. The Menendez clan, which dominates a powerful
drug cartel, was again rocked by loss when the CIA sanctioned the assassination of Raul's
father. An embittered Menendez now considers the conflict to be personal, but his one-man
struggle against the West is interrupted when Mason, Woods, Hudson, and the Panama Defense
Force raid his headquarters in Nicaragua; an enraged Woods inadvertently kills Josefina with a
grenade.

Faking his demise with the assistance of Panamanian dictator Manuel Noriega, Menendez lives
to retaliate against those he holds personally responsible for his sister's death. During the 1989
invasion of Panama, he utilizes moles in the CIA to kidnap Hudson and David, using them as bait
for a trap. He then uses Hudson to mislead Woods, manipulating him into shooting Mason
instead of himself. In the ensuing chaos, Menendez kills Hudson and cripples Woods.
Unsatisfied with his revenge, Menendez allows Woods and David to live, promising to return to
complete his revenge when the time is right.

36 years later, Menendez re-emerges as the leader of Cordis Die, a massive populist movement
with over a billion followers. He stages a cyberattack that cripples the Chinese Stock Exchange;
in response, the Chinese government bans the export of rare earth elements which the entire
infrastructure of the US Army runs and relies on, fomenting the start of the Second Cold War
between the United States and NATO, against the Chinese-led Strategic Defense Coalition.
Taking advantage of this stand-off, Menendez attempts to bring the two superpowers to a full-
blown war by inciting conflicts between the two, secretly aiding SDC leader Chairman Tian Zhao.
Using the intelligence provided by Woods, David, now a Navy SEAL code-named Section,
leads JSOC units in the search for Menendez.

Shortly after gathering intelligence from Woods, Section and JSOC

infiltrates Myanmar investigating suspicious activities in the region. There, Section's team find
evidence that Menendez is planning another, much larger cyberattack with a Celerium device,
a quantum computer capable of hacking any computer system. Section's team is later deployed
in Pakistan, attempting to gather intelligence on Menendez's plots. While covertly recording
Menendez, he discloses the name of a target, "Karma", located in Colossus, a floating resort in
the Cayman Islands. Section and SEAL operatives Harper and Salazar later infiltrate Colossus,
finding out that "Karma" is a woman named Chloe Lynch, a former employee of Menendez's shell
corporation, Tacitus. Lynch was the main developer of the Celerium device, and as a means of
wrapping up loose ends, Menendez had deployed mercenaries for her abduction. In the event
that Chloe isn't rescued within the given time limit a strike mission will open up as a second
chance for her rescue.

JSOC later catches a lead on Menendez in Yemen, where JSOC asset Farid infiltrates Cordis
Die to help Section facilitate Menendez's capture. The player, as Farid has a choice during the
mission. Menendez, suspecting Farid's disloyalty, orders him to shoot the captured Harper. If the
player chooses not to shoot Harper, and instead attempts to shoot Menendez, he fails, but
Harper survives and is rescued. If the player chooses to shoot Harper, Farid survives, and
Harper is not present in any conversations or missions thereafter. Menendez is successfully
captured, but this was a ruse for Menendez to hack into the U.S. military's computer
infrastructure on the aircraft carrier Barack Obama, seizing control of the United States' entire
drone fleet. Salazar is revealed to be Menendez's mole within JSOC, and facilitates Menendez's
attack—Menendez escapes with Salazar's aid, and when Menendez breaks into the bridge of
the Obama, Salazar shoots the soldiers guarding Admiral Briggs, with Lynch's survival
dependent on Farid's survival in the previous mission.

The player, playing as Menendez, has the choice of either killing or wounding Admiral Briggs. If
the player only wounds Briggs, and the player has completed all of the Strike Force missions,
JSOC and SDC enter an alliance, then the player is later informed that the SDC sent hundreds of
drones to defend the Obama, and consequently Briggs was able to save the ship and its crew.
Menendez hacks into military satellites to gain access to the entire U.S. drone fleet to stage an
attack on Los Angeles during a meeting of G20 leaders, hoping to kill them and cause
catastrophic damage to the global economy and to attack several targeted cites in America and
China to cripple their infrastructure. Section escorts the President of the United States to safety
amidst the drone attacks.

JSOC eventually traces the source of the transmissions responsible for the hacking to a Tacitus
facility in Haiti, where Section leads JSOC forces into recapturing the facility in the final mission,
and apprehending or killing Menendez. There are different endings depending on the actions the
player takes throughout the campaign, such as whether or not the United States and China are
able to enter an alliance with each other, as well as determining the fates of certain individuals in
the game.

During the main campaign, the player may choose to participate in optional Strike Missions. The
Strike Missions involve JSOC attempting to curb the SDC's global influence by preventing them
from forcing neighboring countries into the alliance. If all of the missions are completed
successfully, the SDC is weakened enough to ally with JSOC, forming an alliance between the
United States and China, with the Chinese assisting the player later in the campaign.

Endings

The storyline of Call of Duty: Black Ops II has several possible endings. The one shown depends
on decisions and tasks completed over the course of the game. If the player spares Menendez's
life, completes all of the Strike Force Missions, and the characters Chloe Lynch and Alex Mason
survive the events of the game, then the preferred ending will result. The player will have
secured an alliance between China and the United States, ending the Second Cold War. Lynch's
survival prevents Menendez's cyberattack from succeeding. And finally, Alex's survival allows
him to visit Frank Woods in retirement, reuniting with David. The final scene shows Menendez in
prison becoming enraged after watching a talk show with Jimmy Kimmel interviewing Lynch, who
insults Menendez during the interview.[18]

If Menendez is spared and Lynch survives but Alex Mason is killed in action then the Second
Cold War will end and Menendez's cyberattack will fail. David Mason will visit his father's grave
with Woods and decide to retire from soldiering. Woods comments that his father would approve
of the decision.[18]

If Menendez is spared and Lynch is killed, David will take Menendez into custody. The
cyberattack will, however, succeed, allowing Menendez to escape. He then kills Woods in the
retirement home before visiting his sister's grave, dousing himself in gasoline and readying a lit
match.[18]

If Menendez is killed regardless of Lynch and Mason's fate, a YouTube video that Menendez
recorded earlier will air, inciting the civilian population to riot and burn down theWhite House.[18]

If the players complete the game once, players can unlock the non-canonical Special Ending.
The ending showing Menendez and Woods having some practice in the backroom with Avenged
Sevenfold. They then perform at Club Solar together, with Menendez playing the guitar and
Woods on the drums. Several characters from the game also make an appearance in the
cheering crowd.

BLACK OPS 3
Plot
Single-player campaign
Setting and characters

Call of Duty: Black Ops III takes place in 2065, 40 years after the events of Black Ops II, in a
world facing upheaval from climate change and new technologies. In response to the drone
assaults of Black Ops 2, several countries around the world have developed high-tech air
defenses that render conventional air forces virtually useless. As such, most of the warfare
between countries is done by covert operatives fighting behind enemy lines. Military
technology has progressed to the point where robotics play a major role in combat, and both fully
robotic humanoid drones and cyborg supersoldiers have been developed to fight in the
battlefield. As a result, there is speculation and fear about an eventual robotic takeover. The
game follows a team of black ops soldiers, like previous installments in the Black Ops series.[4]

The campaign stars Christopher Meloni as Commander John Taylor, Katee Sackhoff as Sarah
Hall, Sean Douglas as Jacob Hendricks, Rachel Kimsey as Rachel Kane, and Tony Amendola as
Dr. Yousef Salim. Ben Browder and Abby Brammell respectively voice the male and female
versions of the Player character. Other characters include Ary Katz as Peter Maretti, Rey
Gallegos as Sebastian Diaz, Lynn Chen as Goh Xiulan, and Robert Picardo as Sebastian
Krueger. Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch makes a cameo as a villain.[5][6]

Included in the game is the "Nightmares" campaign mode, which is a retelling of the main
campaign with the plot changed to incorporate zombies and other supernatural beings. In this
campaign, the lethal Virus 61-15 is released in various cities around the world, turning whoever it
infects into zombies. In response, the governments of the world seal off the worst infected areas
into Quarantine Zones and form the Deadkillers, cybernetic soldiers trained to exterminate
zombies.
Story

On October 27, 2065, the Player and their partner, Jacob Hendricks, infiltrate a base
in Ethiopia to rescue hostages from the tyrannical NRC, assisted by Commander John Taylor
and his team of cybernetically enhanced soldiers. The rescue is successful, but the Player is
critically wounded, necessitating the installation of cybernetic enhancements to save their life.
The Player is also given a Direct Neural Interface (DNI) to control their cybernetics and directly
communicate with machines. While undergoing surgery, the Player is given virtual training in
their DNI from Taylor and his team; Sebastian Diaz, Sarah Hall, and Peter Maretti. Hendricks
decides to undergo cybernetic enhancements as well.

Five years later, the Player and Hendricks are put under the command of CIA Agent Rachel
Kane and tasked with investigating a CIA black site in Singapore that has gone quiet. They find
that the site has been attacked by the 54 Immortals, Singapore's most powerful criminal
organization. Recovering the site's stolen data, the Player, Hendricks, and Kane find out that
Taylor and his team were responsible for the attack on the site. They go to investigate the last
location Taylor's team visited: the Coalescence Corporation in Singapore, which had been
destroyed ten years prior in a mysterious explosion that killed 300,000 people.

The Player and Hendricks discover a secret CIA lab under the building, and are forced to kill
Diaz, who was wired in to the facility's computer systems. Hendricks connects to Diaz's DNI to
find information, and discovers Taylor is trying to find the survivors of the Singapore explosion.
Taylor then publicly releases the locations of every CIA safe house in the world. While Hendricks
distrusts Kane, the Player, refusing to abandon her, defies Kane's orders and rescues her from
the 54 Immortals in the Singapore safe zone by killing Immortals' leader, Goh Xiulan.

The team then heads to Egypt to find Dr. Yousef Salim, one of the two survivors of the explosion.
Salim reveals that he had worked on a secret project involving illegal DNI experiments on
humans, and that his job was to comfort emotionally unstable humans by using a calming
exercise involving imagining a frozen forest. Taylor and his team then capture Salim and execute
him after interrogation. With the help of the Egyptian Army, the Player, Hendricks, and Kane
chase after Taylor, killing Hall and Maretti in the process.

Connecting to Hall's DNI, the Player discovers that Taylor and his team were infected by Corvus,
a gestalt intelligence created during the secret CIA experiments to contain and monitor the
thoughts of DNI users that ended up causing the Singapore explosion. Corvus' influence
eventually turned Taylor and his team mad, making them obsessed with finding the frozen forest,
which Corvus is determined to prove is a real place. The Player realizes that both they and
Hendricks are infected with Corvus after interfacing with Hall and Diaz respectively, and it is only
a matter of time before they fall under its control as well. The Player and Hendricks pursue and
confront Taylor in Cairo. Taylor manages to resist Corvus and tear his DNI out to avoid killing the
Player, but is then killed by Hendricks. Succumbing to Corvus, Hendricks abandons the Player
and heads to Zürich to interrogate Sebastian Krueger, the manager of the CIA experiments in
Singapore.
The Player and Kane head to Zurich to stop Corvus, fighting through drone forces controlled by
an infected Hendricks and eventually reaching Zurich's Coalescence Corporation's headquarters.
However, once inside, Corvus kills Kane by using Nova 6, the same unidentified gas that caused
the Singapore disaster five years earlier. The Player continues on and confronts Hendricks, who
is holding Krueger hostage. Hendricks kills Krueger after an unsuccessful interrogation.

In order to stop Corvus' infection, the Player kills Hendricks and then tries to kill themselves, but
ends up inside a simulated frozen forest created within their DNI. Corvus tries to manipulate the
Player into staying in the forest, created by a guilt-ridden Corvus after the Singapore explosion
as a way for DNI users to live on after death, but a determined Player refuses. Taylor, also
present after resisting Corvus and becoming a glitch in Corvus' programming, reunites with the
Player, explaining that the only way for the Player to defeat Corvus for good is to purge their DNI.
The Player almost succumbs to Corvus' last-ditch effort to control them, but Taylor helps the
Player fight through Corvus' illusory forces. The Player then purges their DNI and sacrifices
themselves to erase Corvus. As they exit the Zurich headquarters, a ZSF soldier helping
survivors asks for the Player's name; the Player responds "Taylor."

According to the briefings shown before each mission, the Player actually died after succumbing
due to complications during their cybernetics surgery. As they lay dying on the operating table,
they lived out a simulation in their DNI, based on Taylor's experience of he and Hendricks
tracking down a black ops unit led by Dylan Stone (who went rogue after discovering the CIA
black site).

Nightmares

The Player wakes up only to be told by Dr. Salim that they are dead, and that the Player must
recount their memories. The Player tells Dr. Salim that they are a Deadkiller who was sent to
investigate the disappearance of Taylor's Deadkiller team. However, upon investigating, the
Player and Hendricks discover that Taylor's team has used their DNI connections to disable the
Quarantine Zone defenses all over the world. Teaming up with Rachel Kane, the Player and
Hendricks chase Taylor's team all from Singapore to Egypt, eventually being forced to kill the
entire team. However, Hendricks is infected by the same virus that turned Taylor and his team
mad, and heads for Zurich. The Player discovers that Dr. Salim is in fact Deimos, the demigod
responsible for unleashing the undead plague on humanity. Deimos had entered the Player's
mind when they interfaced with Hall, and attempts to manipulate them into opening a portal to his
home dimension, Malus. The Player is then contacted by another demigod, Dolos, who is
sympathetic to humanity and seeks to kill Deimos, her brother. Dolos transports both the Player
and Deimos to Malus, where Deimos is vulnerable. Under Dolos' guidance, the Player kills
Deimos, ending the undead plague on Earth, but trapping the Player in Malus. Dolos then
explains to the Player that her true plans are to kill every other demigod and supernatural being
that can challenge her, and the Player agrees to help her.
CALL OF DUTY : GHOST
Plot
Setting and characters
Call of Duty: Ghosts is set in an alternate timeline that follows the nuclear destruction of
the Middle East. The oil-producing nations ofSouth America, led by Venezuela, form "the
Federation" in response to the ensuing global economic crisis and quickly grow into a global
superpower, swiftly invading and conquering Central America, the Caribbean, and Mexico.

The game's main protagonists are the Ghosts, a force of U.S. Special Operations personnel
trained to conduct clandestine missionsbehind enemy lines. The unit is led by retired U.S. Army
Captain Elias Walker (Stephen Lang). He is joined by his sons Logan and David "Hesh" Walker
(Brandon Routh), along with a trained German Shepherd named Riley, Captain Thomas A.
Merrick (Jeffrey Pierce), and Sergeant Keegan P. Russ (Brian Bloom).[7]

The game's main antagonist is Gabriel Rorke (Kevin Gage), the former leader of the Ghosts who
works for the Federation after being captured and brainwashed by the Federation with torture
and hallucinogens.

Story
In 2017, U.S. Army officer Elias Walker (Stephen Lang) tells his sons, Logan and David "Hesh"
Walker (Brandon Routh), the legend of how the Ghosts, an elite coalition of all U.S. Special
Operations units, first appeared. Meanwhile, in space, the "Federation of the Americas" hijack
the controlling space station of the Orbital Defense Initiative (ODIN),[8] an orbital superweapon
that utilizes kinetic bombardment, and use it to destroy several cities in the southwestern United
States. The surviving American astronauts, Baker and Mosley, sacrifice themselves to self-
destruct the space station and prevent other ODIN satellites from launching their payloads further
inland; Elias and the teenage Logan and David narrowly escape the destruction of San Diego,
California.

Ten years later, the war between the United States and the Federation has been a bloody
stalemate along a front that comprises the destroyed cities, known as "No Man's Land", which
has become a war of attrition as more Federation forces attempt to break the frontlines.
However, the Americans stand their ground, fighting near the former United States-Mexico
border. Logan and Hesh are part of a U.S special unit under the command of Elias and are
accompanied by their loyal military-trained German Shepherd, Riley. During a patrol, they spot
an American working with the Federation, named Gabriel Rorke (Kevin Gage), interrogating a
Ghost member, named Ajax. When the brothers are later ambushed by wolves, they are rescued
by Ghost members Thomas Merrick and Keegan Russ, who are aiming to rescue Ajax; Logan
and Hesh join them, but Ajax is killed.
The brothers return to Santa Monica, California, where U.S forces holdout against an assault
from Federation forces, and reunite with their father, who reveals himself as the leader of Ghosts.
Elias recruits them into the Ghosts, and they learn from him that Rorke was once their leader and
Elias' best friend. However, during a successful mission to assassinate General Diego Almagro,
then president of the Federation, in the capital city Caracas, Elias was forced to abandon Rorke,
who was captured and brainwashed by the Federation and began hunting down members of the
Ghosts.

The Ghosts capture Rorke, but Rorke's men attack their plane and rescue him. The team lands
in the Amazon Jungle, where they witness a missile being launched for an unknown purpose.
The Ghosts raid a Federation laboratory in the Andes and obtain data regarding classified
information in a factory at Rio de Janeiro. The Ghosts destroy the Federation's Atlas oil
platform located in Antarctica to lure the Federation's fleet away from their objective and sink a
destroyer guarding the Brazilian coast. The team discovers that the Federation reverse
engineered ODIN's technology and developed their own orbital bombardment system code
named "LOKI". After destroying the factory, the Ghosts regroup at a safehouse in Las Vegas, but
are captured by Rorke. After Rorke kills Elias, the brothers escape along with Merrick, Keegan
and Riley.

The U.S. then sets out to stop LOKI before it becomes operational, pooling all remaining forces,
including the last U.S. aircraft carrier, USS Liberator, in a synchronized all-out assault to take
down an enemy space center in the Andes Mountains between Argentina and Chile, while a
team of soldiers board a shuttle to take over Federation satellites in space. Hesh and Logan then
pursue Rorke to avenge their father and are seemingly successful, only to find out during the
aftermath that Rorke survived. Logan attempts to defend his wounded brother, but has his arm
broken and is captured by Rorke, who announces his plans to brainwash Logan into killing the
rest of the Ghosts.

In a post-credits scene, Logan is seen being kept inside a pit in the jungle, presumably going
through the same torture methods that Rorke went through.

ADVANCED WARFARE
Plot
Single-player campaign
In 2054, United States Marine Corps Privates and best friends Jack Mitchell (Troy Baker) and
Will Irons (Paul Telfer) participate in a battle against North Koreans in Seoul, under the command
of Sergeant Cormack (Russell Richardson). Will is killed in action after protecting Mitchell, who
has his left arm severed and is forced to be discharged from military service. After attending
Will's funeral, Mitchell is offered a position in Atlas Corporation, the world's most powerful private
military contractor, by CEO Jonathan Irons (Kevin Spacey), Will's father, and is also given an
advanced prosthetic arm to replace his lost one.

Meanwhile, a terrorist group named the KVA, led by a technophobic man named Joseph "Hades"
Chkheidze (Sharif Ibrahim), begins staging numerous terrorist attacks, with the world turning to
Atlas to stop them. Mitchell, along with Gideon (Gideon Emery), Joker (Jeremy Kent Jackson)
and other Atlas soldiers rescue the Nigerian prime minister and capture a KVA technologist
in Lagos, Nigeria during a technology summit. However, by 2055, the KVA's attacks have
become more sophisticated and Mitchell and his team fail to prevent the KVA from forcing
a nuclear reactor meltdown on Bainbridge Island, Washington. The KVA launch simultaneous
attacks against nuclear power plants worldwide, irradiating numerous cities, killing thousands of
people and putting national governments and militaries in turmoil. Atlas emerges as the dominant
military force in the world by aiding civilians affected by the attacks and holding back the KVA's
rampage.

Four years later in 2059, Mitchell and Gideon search an abandoned downtown Detroit,
Michigan to find Dr. Pierre Danois (Erik Passoja), the KVA's second-in-command. During the
mission, Mitchell and Gideon are ambushed, but saved by a mysterious group of soldiers. After
Ilona (Angela Gots), an ex-Spetsnaz Atlas operative, interrogates the doctor, the team tracks
Hades to Santorini, Greece, where KVA leaders are holding a conference. Mitchell corners
Hades and fatally wounds him, but with his last breath, Hades utters "Irons knows," and gives
Mitchell a data chip.

Ilona analyzes the chip, which shows Irons killing the technologist they captured in Nigeria after
learning of the KVA global attack, proving that he deliberately allowed the attacks to occur to
improve Atlas' reputation and power. Irons attempts to have Mitchell and Ilona arrested, but they
escape Atlas' headquarters in the rebuilt New Baghdad, guided by a mysterious soldier, while
Gideon stays by Irons' side for further investigation. The mysterious soldier reveals himself to be
Mitchell's old squad leader, Cormack, who is now a member of the Sentinel Task Force, an
international effort initially created to investigate the KVA power plant attacks, but now
repurposed to prevent Atlas' rise to power.

In 2060, Mitchell, now a Sentinel, joins Cormack, Ilona, and Knox (Khary Payton) to infiltrate
Irons' private residence in Bangkok. The team discovers that Dr. Danois (now working under the
alias Bellamy) is collaborating with Irons on "Manticore", a bio-weapon. They set up a tracker on
a plane carrying the bio-weapon bound for Argentina. Sentinel later intercepts the plane, which
crashes in Antarctica, where Gideon appears and helps the Sentinels defeat the Atlas soldiers.
The team successfully retrieves the WMD and a sample. After analyzing it, they discover that
Manticore is a bio-weapon designed to attack the DNA of individuals and kill them. The only
exceptions are any members of Atlas. The Sentinels, now joined by Gideon, infiltrate and destroy
an Atlas bio-weapons laboratory in Bulgaria, eliminating many of the Manticore samples.

With his plot revealed, Irons releases his ultimatum to remove all politicians, whom he thinks are
the problem of the world, at the United Nations General Assembly and declares war on the world.
The Sentinels discover that Irons is planning a preemptive strike on the United States and try to
stop an Atlas attack on the country in San Francisco, California. Atlas destroys the Golden Gate
Bridge, trapping the U.S. 3rd fleet in the Bay Area, and attempts to destroy the fleet in a single
strike. The Sentinels use a railgun aboard an aircraft carrier to destroy the attacking Atlas ships.
With the ultimatum and the attack on U.S. soil, the United States, along with the rest of the world,
declares war on Atlas, forcing Irons to retreat to his headquarters in New Baghdad.

Seven months later, the Sentinels and the United States Army attack New Baghdad to bring
Irons to justice. However, Atlas releases Manticore, killing Knox and most of the attacking troops.
Mitchell, Ilona, and Gideon, whose DNA are recognized by Manticore as former Atlas soldiers,
are spared, as well as Cormack, who was outside the blast radius. Cormack, Ilona, Mitchell and
Gideon are captured and brought to an Atlas prison camp, which also runs
Manticore experiments on its inmates. The Sentinels escape, but Irons kills Cormack and
severely damages Mitchell's prosthetic arm. As they escape the facility, they discover that Irons
already has enough Manticore to attack every military base in the world and will be launching
an ICBM loaded with the bio-weapon shortly.

Mitchell and Gideon launch a lone assault on the Atlas HQ while using heavily armored
battlesuits and manage to destroy the ICBM. They find Irons as the other Sentinels prepare to
bombard the building, but Irons disables their exoskeletons. Mitchell, forced to release the
exoskeleton to chase Irons, tackles Irons at the edge of the building. Irons hangs onto Mitchell's
prosthetic arm, but Mitchell severs his prosthetic, sending Irons falling to his death. As Gideon
arrives to carry him out of the building, Mitchell notes that Irons' death was only the beginning
and the war against Atlas is far from over.
