Timeline and Summary of the Characters

Lucy Pevensie

 Lucy is evacuated from London to live in the country.


 She discovers a gateway through the wardrobe into the magical land of Narnia.
 Lucy meets a Faun named Mr. Tumnus and has tea with him.
 She tells her story to her brothers and sister, but they don't believe her.
 Lucy returns to Narnia and meets Mr. Tumnus again. On her way home, she meets
Edmund.
 Lucy continues to be disbelieved by Peter and Susan about her adventures.
 She returns to Narnia with all three of her siblings.
 Lucy discovers that Mr. Tumnus has been arrested.
 Lucy and her siblings meet Mr. Beaver and travel to his dam.
 She discovers that Edmund has betrayed them and flees with Peter, Susan, and the
Beavers.
 Lucy receives gifts from Father Christmas.
 Lucy meets Aslan and is awed by him.
 She and Susan follow Aslan to the Stone Table and witness his sacrifice.

Edmund Pevensie

 Edmund is evacuated from London to live in the country.


 He teases Lucy about her story that there is a magical gateway in the wardrobe to a country
called Narnia.
 Edmund follows Lucy into the wardrobe and finds himself in Narnia.
 There, he meets the White Witch.
 Edmund returns home and lies about his experience, claiming Narnia is imaginary.
 He returns to Narnia with all three of his siblings.
 Edmund discovers that Mr. Tumnus has been arrested.
 Edmund and his siblings meet Mr. Beaver and travel to his dam.
 He betrays his brother and sisters to the White Witch.
 Edmund is taken hostage by the White Witch and forced to sledge across the country with
her.
 He is nearly murdered by the Witch but is rescued by Aslan's followers.
 Edmund has a private talk with Aslan which changes him forever.
 Edmund and Peter lead the battle against the Witch's army.
 He behaves very bravely in the battle and destroys the Witch's magic wand.
 Edmund is badly wounded, but is healed by Lucy.
 He is crowned a King of Narnia and becomes known as King Edmund the Just.
 Edmund returns home through the wardrobe.

Peter Pevensie

 Peter is evacuated from London to live in the country.


 Peter hears from his sister Lucy that there is a gateway to a magical land called Narnia in
the wardrobe, but he is confused and troubled by Lucy's strange claim.
 Peter enters Narnia with his three siblings.
 He is disgusted by Edmund's lies.
 Peter discovers that Mr. Tumnus has been arrested.
 He and his siblings meet Mr. Beaver and travel to his dam.
 Peter discovers that Edmund has betrayed them and flees with Lucy, Susan, and the
Beavers.
 He receives gifts from Father Christmas.
 Peter meets Aslan, who shows him Cair Paravel and tells him that he will be High King
there.
 He slays Fenris.
 Peter leads Aslan's army in battle against the White Witch. With Aslan's help, they are
victorious.
 Peter is crowned a King of Narnia and becomes known as King Peter the Magnificent.
 He returns home through the wardrobe

Susan Pevensie

 Susan is evacuated from London to live in the country.


 She hears from her sister Lucy that there is a gateway in the wardrobe to the magical land
of Narnia. She worries that Lucy may be losing her mind.
 Susan enters Narnia with her three siblings.
 She discovers that Mr. Tumnus has been arrested.
 Susan and her siblings meet Mr. Beaver and travel to his dam.
 She discovers that Edmund has betrayed them and flees with Peter, Lucy, and the
Beavers.
 Susan receives gifts from Father Christmas.
 She meets Aslan and is awed by him.
 Susan is attacked by Fenris, but Peter saves her.
 Susan and Lucy follow Aslan to the Stone Table and witness his sacrifice.
 They witness Aslan's resurrection, then travel with Aslan to the Witch's house and free the
people who have been turned into statues.

Aslan

 Aslan arrives in Narnia after a long absence and gathers his followers together at the Stone
Table.
 He greets Peter, Susan, Lucy, and the Beavers.
 Aslan knights Peter for killing Fenris.
 He orders the rescue of Edmund.
 Aslan makes a private agreement with the Witch.
 He walks sorrowfully to the Stone Table at night, accompanied by Lucy and Susan.
 Aslan allows the Witch and her followers to sacrifice him on the Stone Table.
 He is miraculously resurrected, thanks to the Deeper Magic from Before the Dawn of Time.
 Aslan takes Susan and Lucy to the Witch's house and turns all the statues back into people.
 Aslan leads his newly-rescued followers to the battle being fought by Peter and the army.
 He kills the White Witch.
 Aslan crowns Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy as Kings and Queens of Narnia.
 Aslan comes and goes from Narnia on his own schedule. After all, he's not a tame lion!

The White Witch


 The White Witch meets Edmund in the woods and learns that human beings have found
their way into Narnia.
 The Witch bespells Edmund with enchanted Turkish Delight.
 She orders the arrest of Mr. Tumnus.
 The Witch learns from Edmund that his brother and sisters are in the Beavers' house.
 She takes Edmund hostage and attempts to capture his siblings, but is prevented by the
arrival of spring and the uselessness of her sledge.
 The Witch tries to kill Edmund, but is ambushed by Aslan's followers. She disguises herself
as a tree stump to escape capture.
 She goes to see Aslan under a flag of truce and claims Edmund for herself as a traitor.
 The Witch and Aslan have a private conversation and she renounces her claim on Edmund.
 The Witch sacrifices Aslan at the Stone Table.
 She and her army attack Aslan's followers.
 The Witch's wand is destroyed by Edmund during the battle.
 The Witch is killed by Aslan.
