 Write the titles of the two reading texts with the words in the wrong order on the board.
Ask pupils to sequence the words in the two titles in the correct order.
Pre  Explain that these titles will be the focus of the Reading lesson. Ask pupils to explain why
the titles use the passive (focus on what happens rather than who makes it happen) and
how to form the present simple passive.

 Distrubute Worksheet 1 & 2 to pupils. One half of the pupils will get the ‘How paper is
ACTIVITIES

recycled’ worksheet and another half will get the ‘How glass is recycled’ worksheet.
 Task 1: Pupils will match the descriptions with the correct pictures for both processes.
While
Quickly check the answers with each group.
Elicit briefly from each half of the class which clues helped them with their answers.
 Task 2: In pairs (from different half), explain the prosess of how paper and glass are
recycled to each other.
