Con A de Amor

“As and adopted child, when I grew up, I wanted to dedicate part of life
volunteering and helping children in vulnerable situation that did not have
the same life’s opportunities like me. Therefore, that is why I founded my own
organization, where the main mission was to empower children´s life skills
through playful experiences.
However, when people started to know that adoption was the main reason
behind my philanthropic passion, they used to have a lot of questions for me
and some of them express wrong perceptions about adoption. At the
beginning, it did not matter to me; but when I realized that there are more
than 30,000 children in orphanage situation in my country, and even worst,
there is not an efficient Adoption Law that promotes and protect their rights,
everything changed for me.

I decided to speak up in the name of those children and use my own

testimony to promote adoption culture in Mexico. Through my history, my
goal is to educate people about what is adoption and why a law reform is
necessary for our country.

Therefore, I founded: Con A de Amor, hablemos de adopción. (With A of Love,

let’s talk about adoption)”

During 2017, Mayela has been named as one of the 397 Adoption Worldwide
Ambassadors by World Adoption Day.

Social Enterprise Idea
“During the beginning of my project, I realized that adoptive parents and
adopted children struggle a lot during the adoption processes.
I thought to myself: When somebody is pregnant, family and friends
celebrate this important event by making baby showers and giving special
gifts. Why we can not do the same with adoption? Supporting parents and
children would make easier the processes.

After that, I decided that I will found the first online store to celebrate and
honor those parent and children that become family through adoption by
designing special products for them.
My goal is that this store supports my project and keep educating the
society in general. Adoption is one of the most amazing ways of love, and
love deserves to be celebrated!”
