November 26

Founder of the Pauline Family

You shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria
and to the ends of the earth.

The Gloria is said or sung.

O God, who raised up in your Church
Blessed James Alberione, your priest,
to proclaim you Son as the Way, the Truth, and the Life,
through the many forms of communication,
grant, we beseech you,
that we may follow his example
and devote ourselves
to preaching the Gospel to all nations.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.

Lord, accept these gifts from your people.
May the Eucharist we offer to your glory
in memory of Blessed James Alberione,
help us on our way to salvation.
Through Christ our Lord.
It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks,
Lord, holy Father, almighty and eternal God,
through Christ our Lord.

You give your Church this feast

in honor of Blessed James Alberione
who dedicated his life to Jesus the Master,
and to spreading his good news in all the world
through modern media.
You appointed him founder and father
of a family of apostles.
In his life you give us an example
of growing holiness
and of the hope of the world to come.

And so, Lord, with all the Angels and Saints,

we, too, give you thanks, as in exultation we acclaim:

It is no longer I who live; it is Christ who lives in me; and the life I now
live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave
himself for me.

Lord, we receive the Bread of Heaven
as we honor the memory of Blessed James Alberione.
May the Eucharist we now celebrate
increase our strength of character and love for you.
May we guard from every danger
the faith you have given us
and walk always in the way that leads to salvation.
Through Christ our Lord.

READING 2 Tim 4:1-5

A reading from the Second Letter of St. Paul to Timothy.

I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus,
who will judge the living and the dead,
and by his appearing and his kingly power:
proclaim the word;
be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient;
convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching.
For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine
but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity,
will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth
and will be diverted to myths.
But you, be self-possessed in all circumstances;
put up with hardship;
perform the work of an evangelist;
fulfill your ministry.

The word of the Lord.

RESPONSORIAL PSALM Ps 96:1-2a, 2b-3, 7-8a, 10

R. Proclaim God's marvelous deeds to all the nations.

Sing to the LORD a new song;

sing to the LORD, all you lands.
Sing to the LORD; bless his name. (R.)

Announce his salvation, day after day.

Tell his glory among the nations;
among all peoples, his wondrous deeds. (R.)
Give to the LORD, you families of nations,
give to the LORD glory and praise;
give to the LORD the glory due his name! (R.)

Say among the nations: The LORD is king.

He has made the world firm, not to be moved;
he governs the peoples with equity. (R.)

The Spirit of truth will be my witness, and you too will be my witnesses,
says the Lord.

GOSPEL Mk 16:14-18

A reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark

As the eleven were at table, Jesus appeared to them

and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart
because they had not believed those who saw him
after he had been raised.
He said to them, “Go into the whole world
and proclaim the gospel to every creature.
Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved;
whoever does not believe will be condemned.
These signs will accompany those who believe:
in my name they will drive out demons,
they will speak new languages.
They will pick up serpents [with their hands],
and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them.
They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

The Gospel of the Lord.

November 26

Dear brothers and sisters, on this day, when we celebrate with joy, the
memorial of Blessed James Alberione, let us entrust to the mercy of God
our Father, our prayers for the world and the Church.

Sanctify your people, Lord.

1. For the Church, called to shine the true light in the world, that it may
always be faithful to its mission with care for unity and truth, let us
pray to the Lord.

2. For our world, torn by hatred and selfishness, that it may hear the
voice of witnesses to the Gospel and welcome the message of Christ,
let us pray to the Lord.

3. For all media practioners that they may uphold the truth as to promote
justice and peace, let us pray to the Lord.

4. For all who belong to the Society of St. Paul and the Pauline Family,
that they may share in the zeal of Blessed James Alberione in the
apostolate of social communication for the salvation of the world, let
us pray to the Lord.

5. For all of us that we may use our life for the spread of the Gospel like
Blessed James Alberione, let us pray to the Lord.

6. For all the faithful departed: may God welcome them into paradise,
let us pray to the Lord.

We entreat you, God our Father, help us to better accomplish the work
of Christians and proclaim, by word and example the Good News of
salvation. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
