Course Number: STAT 1

Course Title: Elementary Statistics
Prerequisite: Math 11 or Math 17
Credit Units: 3 units (2 hours lecture and 3 hours laboratory)
Course Description: Basic statistical concepts, frequency tables, summary measures, probability sampling,
estimation, hypothesis testing, analysis of variance, regression and correlation, goodness-
of-fit tests, tests of independence
Goal: Understand different statistical methods and develop competency in basic statistics
