ELECTRICAL CLOCKS PULSE TYPE

Clocks Nos. 4A, 6, 8, 20, 34 .. ., 34A ..., SOA, 52A. 54A, 56A, 58A, 64A, 66A and 68A

1. Description.- The standard -}-minute pulse
clocks at presen t used by the P.O. are illustrated in
Figs. I to 8. The movements are described in B 1311.
Clock No. 4A is described in B 1329.
*2. Mounting.-Clocks N os. 6, 8. 20 and 58A a re
wall clocks .
*3. Cl ocks No. 34 ... and Clocks No. 34A .. . are
used on telephone switchboa rds. Bracket, Clock, No.
4 (Drg. P /T 82) is designed to support a Clock No.
34 ... or 34A ... on the top of, but projecting from
the front of, the switchboard. The bracket is suitable
for supporting the clock in two different positions.

4. Clocks No. 50 A and 52 A are designed solely for
use in the public offices of Post Offices. Both clocks
are suitable for wi ndow mounting. by means of
horizontal or vertical suspensions (Drgs. P / T 103 and
P /T I04) which are special wrought-iron brackets.
designed to harmonize with the interior of the public
offices. The brackets should be obtained locally and
painted to match the colour scheme. Clock No. 52A
is also suitable for wall mounting in public offices.
*5. Clocks Nos. 54A and 56A are designed solely
for mounting in the public office windows of Post
Offices by means of Bezel. Clock, No. 1 (Drg. P /T
l02). Clock No. 56A (single dial) is the standard.
Note.-All clocks in the ·50' series are supplied
unpolished; they should, therefore, be stained and
polished to harmonize with the colour scheme of the
office in which they are fitted.
6. Clock No. 58A is an octagonal wall-type clock
with a single silvered 8 in. dial and a mahogany case.
Its use is restricted to single rooms occupied by
persons entitled to a carpet.

*7. Clork 1\'o. 64A. which supersedes Clock No. 4A
and Clock No. 18, is a 12 in. single dial wall-type
pulse clock for general purposes. lt has a circular.
moulded synthetic-resin case, with a 'Golden Beige '
finish provided wi th a concealed suspension hinge
and has the general appearance of Fig. 8. The case
is of light construction and care must be taken in
handling and installing. Clocks No. 4A will continue

to be issued as long as they are available.
8. When a Clock No. 64A is fitted in an exposed
position . the movement and dial should be removed
and the glass made damp-proof with a thin layer
of putty between the glass and case.
9. Clock No. 66A, which supersedes Clock No. 2
and Clock No. 58A. is a 9 in. single dial wall- type
pulse clock for general purposes. The movement.
case material, suspension hinge and finish are similar
to the Clock No. 64A and the clock has the general
appearance of F ig. 8. Clocks No. 2 and Clocks No.
58A wi ll continue to be issued as long as they are
available.
* 10. Clock No. 68A is similar to the Clock No.
66A except that the clock case is recessed at the
bottom to accommodate the column of a Bracket.
Clock, No. 9. The clock and bracket are used on
low switchboards .
