Shape Back Flap
Stitches will be rearranged for Back Flap and Front Brim.
Slip first 27 sts to needle, slip last 24 sts to needle,
slip rem center 28 sts to a stitch holder for Brim – 51
sts on needle.
With RS facing, join yarn and slipping first st of every
row, work in patterns as established across 51 sts for
10 rows.
Dec Row (RS) K1, p2tog, work across to last 3 sts,
p2tog, k1 – 49 sts.
Work 2 more rows.
Shape Earflaps
Next Row (WS) Work 15 sts, join a second ball of
yarn and bind off 19 sts, work to end of row – 15 sts
rem each Earflap.
Working both Earflaps at same time with separate
balls of yarn and keeping in patterns, dec 1 st at each
side of each Earflap every 4th row once, then every
6th row once – 11 sts rem each Earflap.
Dec 1 each side of each Earflap every other row 3
times – 5 sts rem each Earflap.
Purl 1 row.
Last Row K2, k2tog, k1 – 4 sts rem each Ear Flap.
Work in I-Cord on 4 sts until Cord measures 11”.
Bind off.
Brim

TASSELS (make 2)
Cut 31 lengths of yarn 10” long for each TASSEL.
Group 30 lengths of yarn together and fold in half;
with the last length of yarn, wrap tightly several
times around folded yarn, approx. ¾” below fold, and
knot securely. Draw knot to center and using one
remaining end, sew a TASSEL to point at cast-on
edge. Repeat at bind-off edge.
