What is the effect of camouflage on natural selection?

Introduction:

Natural selection is the process where organisms adapt better to a certain change in their
environment and hence are better fit to survive and reproduce, allowing the next generation of
offspring to acquire better survival phenotypic/genotypic characteristics. There has been much
research on this topic regarding the theory of evolution and that the strong will outlive the weak
through natural selection. The aim of this article is to show how natural selection works in our
environment. It is hypothesised that the colour of the match sticks that match that of the paper are
more likely to survive and reproduce whereas those match sticks that stand out against the coloured
paper would be less likely to survive.

Methodology:

1. Working with a partner. Assign one person to conduct the experiment and the other to be
the subject. The experimenter is the one picking toothpicks and the subject is to time the
experimenter and write the results into a table.
2. the experimenter will mix the coloured tooth picks and spreads them throughout one piece
of paper. Place the cup in front of the experimenter or somewhere reachable.
3. The subject has 20 seconds
