Every vacation is different; everybody has different needs and vacation time at
their disposal. That said, in order to make itineraries that will be as useful to as
many people as possible, we made some assumptions in this guide that will,
hopefully, fit as many standard cases as possible.

For example, we’re assuming you're flying to and out of Southeast Asia. However,
you may very well be already there or coming from China overland. If so, alter
things accordingly, which should be relatively easy as you'll probably be able to be
a bit more flexible with your travel schedule.

One big assumption being made is that you're after all the top attractions in the
major destinations. Though the whole point is to help you fit in as much amazing
sights as possible we also think it is important to squeeze some actual vacation in
between all the sightseeing.

1 Week in Vietnam (Hanoi to HCMC)

Hanoi, Halong Bay, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta

This itinerary starts in Hanoi in the
north and ends in Ho Chi Minh City
(Saigon) in the south with side trips to
Halong Bay and the Mekong Delta. The
Reunification Express takes you from
Hanoi to HCMC by rail in about 30-40
hours. If this sounds a bit too long or if
you don’t like trains there is also the
option of flying which takes about 2
hours, though you'd miss on the
beautiful scenery.
