The COBRAY TRAINING CENTER offers a ten-day course for survival in today's

world. Assassins and kidnappers can strike at any time. Incidents are be

com1ng increasingly common. According to a Conference Board report of Nov

ember 15, 1979, terrorist actions against corporate victims are showing an

alarming upward spiral. Terrorists are turning more and more to corporate

victims for two reasons: one is that many Governments have refused to deal

with terrorists, thus rendering any ransom demands futile. The second being

that corporations usually will negotiate, both because the large number of

multi-nationals makes the formation of a credible non-negotiating policy al

most impossible, and also companies could face a large civil damage suit if

they refused to negotiate for the lives of kidnapped executives or their

families.

Many insurance companies are now offering kidnap and ransom policies. This

must tell us what is expected in the near future 1n regard to terrorist ac

tions in the United States and foreign countries.

Our ten-day course offers a series of classes prepared to develope the indi

viduals' confidence and capabilities; to teach one to react effectively during

an extreme stress situation. The overall program has been designed to create

awareness of all possible incidents, and to give one the ability to control

any adverse situation.

The COBRAY TRAINING CENTER,founded by Mitchell Livingston WerBell, III, is

staffed by internationally recognized professionals. Our curriculum is flex

able and courses can be structured to suit specialized requirements.

Complete confidentiality is provided to all our clients.

The COBRAY TRAINING CENTER has prepared a course structure specifically designed
for Law Enforcement Agencies and Officers because of the rnany requests we have
recently received. We feel it is important to provide specialized and advanced
training to the law enforcement community, particularily at this time of increased
dissident and terrorist activity.

Our program begins with a physical fitness and conditioning COurse. For an officer
to function at his best, he must be physically and mentally prepared. We teach ad
vanced arrest techniques, methodswhich put you in the least jeopardy. The program
includes intensive firearms work, including techniques for firing in low-light
situations. Our method, Instinct Shooting, was developed by Lucky McDaniel and taught
to the United States Armed Forces during the Viet Nam war. It is effective. We will
familiarize you with a range of unconventional weapons, those you may face infue
course of your duties.

Intelligence is very important at this time. Knowing what may happen may enable
you to prevent it. Dealing with dissident and terrorist activities is becoming
more a part of everyday police work. A knowledge of this field is essential to
your well-being and to the protection of your community. Riot control, barricade
and hostage situations are essential areas pf knowledge for today's l~w enforcement
officer. Use of the techniques of deterrent and compellent force against dissident
action can help you quickly and effectively control a situation.

COBRAY wants to help you prepare, and be prepared, to be an effective and strong
law enforcement officer. Our courses are planned for five days; we understand
the financial limitations of the current economy for financing training programs.
The cost of the course is $1,500. per man. Discounts can be arranged for groups.

The course structure can be altered to your agency's particular needs and interests.
We can even arrange to present the course over a period of time rather than a
five-day block.

Call us and we will discuss any arrangements that you would like to make. We are
here to serve you.
