Anita has just came back from a holiday in Sarawak. On her way to the grocery shop, she
meets her classmate, Rashidah.
Rashidah : Hi Anita. Fancy meeting you here. I thought you were supposed to be in Kapit.
Anita : I just got back yesterday.
Rashidah : Did you enjoyed yourself there?
Anita : I sure did. In fact, i’m planning to go there again during the next holidays.
Rashidah : You sure sound excited. What did you do there?
Anita : Well my uncle took me to the Sarawak Cultural Village which is also known as “The
Living Museum”
Rashidah : Isn’t that the village which is situated at the foothill of the legendary Mount
Santubong?
Anita : You’re right. The village portrays the state’s rich, cultural diversity ‘live’ in one
single place. It has seven authentic ethnic houses built around a man-made lake.
Rashidah : That sound exotic. What did you see there?
Anita : I got to see handicraft-making demonstration by skilled craft workers. Traditional
games, household chores, multi cultural dances, rituals and ceremonies were also
performed within and outside the ethnic houses.
Rashidah :You lucky girl! You had the opportunity to experience the Sarawakian culture and
life style by just visiting the Cultural Village.
Anita : I certainly did.
Rashidah : Oh, it’s getting late. I’ve got to go. Bye.
Anita : Bye. See you next week.

Good morning, teachers and members of the Parents Teachers Association. I am very
honoured to be chosen to give a speech on the title “Love The Environment” on this special
day.
Rivers are beautiful gifts of nature. If the rivers run free and not treated as a spot for
disposing rubbish, many sea creatures can be protected. Many birds can also live to their
fullest if they are not threatened with pollution. The trees should not be cut by the loggers as
they wish. The acts, of destroying nature can contribute to ecology imbalance.
We all know that our nature consists of water, land and air. We need clean air, land and water
to live healthily. We, the human beings are the agents of cleanliness. We must not throw
rubbish or scatter dirt everywhere. If we do not practise this, we are responsible for the
spreading of many diseases.
Furthermore, we can also live in harmony and happily enjoy the everlasting beauty of nature.
Thank you
