3. Day 1
a. Summary of briefing session with district and block administration (Please mention the
key highlights of discussions, including suggested additional areas of exploration under

a. Field observations – ODF field verification status, ODF protocol documents (to be
consolidated from 3 days ODF validation)
b. Issues emerged during discussion with community sections regarding ODF sustainability
mechanism in districts.
c. Different mechanism in place for sustaining ODF and/or suggested innovation for
sustaining ODF.
d. Observations and issues – school and anganwadi sanitation – availability, functionality
and use by children. Triangulated assessment of children perspective on school sanitation
e. Key suggested actions from block/district administrations to make/sustain ODF status?

5. Field visit Day 3 and 4


a. Summary of household sanitation assessment on toilet access, use including status of key
hygiene practices (Handwashing with soap, safe disposal of child excreta etcs) and
knowledge about and access to online FTO system for toilet incentives.
b. Summary of key issues and challenges emerge out of household WASH assessment.
c. Key suggestions for improvement in household level WASH practices. (Please suggest any
innovative way to promote WASH behaviour at scale)
d. Summary on Handwashing practices before mid-day meal (Status of HWWS before MDM,
reasons why HWWS in schools not being practice (if not in practice), description of
system school adopted for sustained HWWS by all children (If in practice).
e. Summary of outcome of “Swachhata Matdan” and key excerpts of FGD with school
children on WASH.
f. Need assessment for differently abled person in village, if any, from sanitation aspect

6. Field visit Day 5


a. Excerpts from FGDs (2) with communities on ODF status (include details on participants of FGD,
views on ODF status from participants, household level toilet access and usage and factors contributing to
sustainability and non-sustainability of ODF status, list of suggestions from community for ODF sustainability)
b. Summary of participatory SLWM planning exercise (process, what are the key solid and liquid
waste related problems identified (be specific and try to quantify wherever possible), what are the key
suggestions identified (keeping sustenance in mind) and what community agreed to contribute for SLWM)
c. Summary of an innovative initiative instigated by RIP group members ( please mention the
problem identified for initiating change, process adapted and results) (Few selected cases will be part of RIP
report, please articulate as good as possible, include picture)

7. Final Plan presented to Community in village meeting


a. Observations and recommendations
b. Proposal presented (ODF sustainability mechanism, institutionalized mechanism for
maintenance of village cleanliness, SLWM proposal etc)
c. Final plan approved by community

While the group prepares the final plan to be presented to community, following to be considered

1. Plan should be practically implementable by available resources in the village


2. Planning should be participatory with community
3. Roles and responsibilities clearly identified
4. Fund source to be clearly mentioned.

Report to include Quantity, quality and timeline. Photographs wherever applicable (a photo gallery
with captions for each photo may also be considered as annexure)
Presentation to District Administration (after field visit)
1. ODF Verification exercise : (include Quantity, quality and timeline)
a. ODF status of the villages visited by all team members
b. Compiled factors affecting/supporting ODF status. How were they able to sustain –
mechanism, community leadership, involvement… What played the crucial role – key
highlights – what worked / what did not work
c. Workable ODF sustenance model from villages,
d. School / Anganwadi sanitation facilities (availability/functionality/usage)
e. Key highlights on online FTO models.
f. Overall observations and recommendations for scaling-up ODF and ODF + campaign.
g. Suggested follow-up plan for district

2. Innovations in field

3. Suggestions and recommendations from group (policy / field visit / stay / food /
accommodation…any other issue….

All reports and presentations shall be submitted in soft and hardcopy (signed by all group
members).
