Multi Criteria Evaluation
It helps in determining a land suitability for future
urban development.
Multi criteria analysis is used in five spatial criteria.
Each criterion under consideration is ranked in the
order of the decision maker’s preference.
In this method, criterion values for each factor were
given weightage according to the estimated
significance for causing land capability
classification.
All criteria’s were found out by analytical hierarchy
process.
Pair wise comparison of relative weightage of
judgment matrix criterion

Conclusions and Recommendations
•To reduce the human errors in digitization the process of digitization
can be changed from layer wise digitization to area wise digitization.(Gridwise)
•The important environmental factors like Slope, Geology, Geomorphology,
Drainage and Soil should be considered before finalizing landuses.
•Clear guidelines for preparing geodatabase should be prepared and circulated
by the department to avoid duplicity of work.
•A suitability map using MCE technique be prepared before arriving at/
demarcating proposed landuses.
•Public opinion /suggestions should be called and considered before finalising
landuses and not after deciding landuses.
•A Geoinformatics cell with qualified personnel be set up at head office level
to help planners and improve quality of plans.
•As the recruitment of qualified personnel is a time consuming process,
training programmes for existing officers be finalised with the help of IIRS
and implemented in a timeframe.
