A night of solitude
In outskirts of an agrarian town
By ‘unknown’ peasant Davidic couple
In social winter and silent expectations
During government task of census enrolment
Of life to be born.

Trepidation of privacy
Won over by strange guests (of symbols)
In unlikely hospitality
Among stable stocks and human keepers
Pastoral land large and thick
In gloomy Judean country land
Now, centuries of manger symbolism.

Birth unfolds new era

From the new-fangled parents
For faith is born as love in babe
Glad tidings of ever fresh meanings
Of life and livings.

The story of Christendom

Apolitical and free of chronic curves of histories
Isaiah’s vision of earth in heaven
Where impossible existence is prophetic realities
Among peaceful cohabitations of all existences
God has become anthropo-centric
The revolution of creation.

Human longing for homely hearts

Millennial quests unceasing
Power. Pleasure. Prosperity.
Christ’s indwelling sans tripartite human space.
Bethlehem’s denial of dwelling
Opens salvific space of living
Hearts of men/women resonating in time
The God-Among-Us as Faith, Love and Joy.

A manger story in pastoral setting

Scientific quests from afar
And heavenly harbingers
Bring tidings of Good News
Against brutal human journeys
Of bloodlettings and moral pains
That Messiah has been born
He is here and forever.

The expelled couple of creation

With marks of shame and sorrows
The human whimpering origins
Endless meaningless rifles…
The couple of Nazareth
Their heroic surrender and grace
Brings God into exiled humanity
Seeking the strayed, the banished.

Gospel narrates silence of Judean couple

Reports messages and manifests (heavenly
and earthly)
Gospel gaps of obscurity of event and the whispers of faith
The textual echoes
Ripples of reading, reflecting, writing
Centuries over centuries
Good News manifesting the eternity
To finite mankind’s wisdom.
