• Brief Course Description

This course is designed to familiarize students with current and emerging electronic
commerce strategies and technologies. We will focus on the managerial topics, such
as business strategies for e-commerce, typical e-commerce business models, online
marketing tactics, and e-commerce project management. Meanwhile, we will also
cover a few technical topics, including the network infrastructure of e-commerce,
website interface design, and online security. In addition, we will survey leading
e-commerce companies in China and analyze their competitive strategies.

• Course Objectives

Upon the completion of this course, students will acquire knowledge on:
• Strategic implications of Internet on business management
• Various e-commerce business models
• Technological infrastructures of electronic commerce
• Case analysis of leading e-commerce companies in China
