Idea:
The safety of Indian fishermen and securing the Exclusive Economic Zone(EEZ) of Sri
Lanka will be achieved by implementing our concept, Sensitizing the Indian Marine
Border Line(IMBL).
We scrutinized previous implementations and initiatives to prevent transgression
and noticed a flaw, the choice to break the rule is given to the fishermen.
We take away the choice and monitor the IMBL by using Automatic Identification
System (AIS) device to warn the authenticated boats and inform the coast guards
about possible transgression by unauthenticated boats.

Applied technologies:
1). Automatic Identification System
2). Wireless Sensor Networks
3). VHF radio channel

Implementation:
We devise two devices, the Intrustion Detection System(IDS) and the Marine Border
Alert System(MBAS) . The IDS will be spread across the IMBL at regular distances
while the MBAS is handed over to the registered fishing boat.
The IDS is trained to detect sailing of boat by difference in the ocean waves and
has AIS transponder which communicates with the AIS receiver embedded in the MBAS,
thereby alerting the registered boat and provides navigation details to legal
fishing region.
If the IDS detects an intrusion but no AIS receiver, it senses illegal crossing of
IMBL and informs the Coast guards by using VHF radio channel.
