Health Insurance Essay

Health insurance is, without doubt, the most important insurance one can have. The

coverage pays for the medical or surgical procedure that is needed for an illness or injuries. It

insures the wellbeing of a person which is the most crucial aspect of life. Although the

significance of the health insurance may be concluded, there are many arguments on how the

insurance should be implemented. Some believe that it should be mandatory to pay for an health

insurance while others may think that people should not be forced to have one. However, I

believe that the government should provide universal health care for the people in the US.

Universal Health Care refers to a health care package that provides health care and

financial protection for every citizen of that country. This means that everyone, despite their age,

gender, social status, or race will receive health care paid by the government. Universal Health

Care would lead to many benefits to the country. First, there would be equal access to healthcare

by everyone. This gives people who normally cannot afford healthcare the services they need in

order to maintain their health. No single life is more important than another, thus it only makes

sense to provide everyone with equal aid. Another benefit of this health care is that it would

improve public health. Because everyone would get at least the basic care that they need, the

overall health of the country would be increase. The amount of illnesses suffered by the

population would be reduced, creating a healthier and happier environment. Finally, there would

be a drastic decrease in the amount of paperwork. For everyone is under the same system,

doctors would be able to concentrate on treating their patients instead of worrying about

insurances and other factors. WIth less paperwork, more people would be treated, creating a

chain reaction of benefits to the medical workfield. All in all, this universal health care system

would not only better the health of citizens, but create a more positive country.
33 countries so far have taken on the Universal Health Care for their citizens. When it

comes to health, it is the basic human right to have the access to a healthy life. This basic right

should be managed by the government and their first step is to provide Universal Health Care.

The United Nations Declaration made on December 10, 1948 states that everyone has the right

to a standard of living proper for the health and wellbeing of the individual and his family, which

includes medical care. This statement should end all question on if Universal Health Care is the

correct way to go about to create a strong and healthy country.
