Heroes 5 Manual - 2.0 to 2.1 changelog

Legend:
- FIX: bug correction or important missing detail in previous manual
- UPD: update due to a balance change or new feature in the latest patch
- NEW: new content (new section, new comment...)

[Heroes]
- NEW: Veyer (Inferno) added to the Heroes list
- NEW: Warmachines added to the Duel Heroes
- UPD: Duel Heroes/Deirdre now has Advanced Necromancy (instead of Basic)
- UPD: Duel Heroes/Orson now has Advanced Necromancy (instead of Basic)
- UPD: Duel Heroes/Orson now has the Cursed Ring artifact (instead of the Ring of
the Unrepentant)
- UPD: Lizard Breeder's (Sorgal) Lizard Bite's damage multiplier is now
1.10+0.005*Level (instead of 0.6+0.005*Level - the standard multiplier is 0.5)
- FIX: Swift Striker's (Wyngaal) bonus (to starting ATB) is 0.02 per level, not
0.005 as the in-game description states
- UPD: Gating bonus is now additive (in Gate Keeper special comment)
- UPD: Souldrinker special (Raven) no longer applies the Defense decrease on
Weakness cast by creatures (Archliches, Spectral Dragons)
- FIX: used by Deirdre (Banshee specialist), Banshee decreases Initiative by 10%
as usual, not 20%
- UPD: Suzerain (and other Training modifiers) is now additive

[Skills]
- UPD: Necro Skill Tree/wheel updated
- FIX: Refresh Rune (Runelore) takes a full hero turn
- NEW: Arcane Brillance (Sorcery) gives a level 1-3 spell that the hero can learn
- UPD: Flaming Arrows (Attack) now restores a destroyed Ballista after combat
- UPD: Distract now drops ATB value by 0.15 (instead of 0.2)
- UPD: with Scholar, a hero only teaches spells to others, he does not learn
others' spells
- UPD: with Arcane Intuition, a hero can not learn spells from his own creatures
- NEW: Guardian Angel can resurrect Gargoyles, Golems and Fire/Magma Dragons

[Creatures]
- NEW: Power is now displayed in the creatures tables
- FIX: Haven Renegades missing abilities added (Vindicator: +Large Shield, Battle
Griffin: +Imm. to Blind, Champion: +Jousting)
- NEW: comments added for Battle Frenzy, Howl, Pack Hunter, Crossfire, Enraged,

- FIX: Take Roots (Ancient Treants) interaction with Defend/Wait added

- NEW: Cursing Attack casts Weakness with Advanced mastery

[Spells]
- NEW: Rune comments added
- FIX: Fortress Magic Schools bindings fixed (Light and Destructive)
- FIX: Rune costs fixed (the correct resource cost is now displayed, instead of 0
Mana)
- NEW: Frenzy can not be dispelled by Cleansing
- UPD: Summon Creatures now uses 75% of the hero's starting movement points

[Artifacts]
- UPD: Almost all prices have changed (see the 2.0 and 2.1 Artifacts sections).
- UPD: A few artifacts have also changed class:
* Major (instead of Minor): Shield of Crystal Ice, Necklace of the Bloody Claw,
Ring of Vitality
* Minor (instead of Major): All-Seeing Crown, Ring of the Unrepentant
- NEW: All-Seeing Crown adds +4 to range of view

[Buildings]
- UPD: Dungeon/Hall of Shadows (Shadow Witches):
* 2.1 cost: 4000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 4 Mercury, 4 Sulfur, 4 Gems.
* 2.0 cost: 4000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 4 Mercury, 4 Sulfur, 4 Crystal.
- UPD: Dungeon/Palace of Shadows (Shadow Matriarches):
* 2.1 cost: 6000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 5 Mercury, 5 Sulfur, 5 Gems.
* 2.0 cost: 6000 Gold, 5 Wood, 5 Ore, 5 Mercury, 5 Sulfur, 5 Crystal.
- UPD: Fortress/Runic Chapel (Rune Priests):
* 2.1 cost: 3000 Gold, 10 Wood, 10 Ore, 5 Mercury, 5 Sulfur, 5 Crystal, 5 Gems.
* 2.0 cost: 3000 Gold, 10 Wood, 10 Ore, 5 Mercury, 5 Sulfur, 5 Crystal, 10 Gems.
- UPD: Fortress/Runic Temple (Rune Patriarches):
* 2.1 cost: 6000 Gold, 5 Ore, 5 Crystal, 10 Gems.
* 2.0 cost: 6000 Gold, 5 Ore, 10 Gems.
- UPD: Fortress/Clan Halls (Thanes):
* 2.1 cost: 4000 Gold, 20 Crystal.
* 2.0 cost: 4000 Gold, 20 Gems.
- UPD: Fortress/Lava Fissure (Fire Dragons):
* 2.1 cost: 10000 Gold, 15 Ore, 10 Sulfur, 10 Crystal.
* 2.0 cost: 10000 Gold, 15 Ore, 20 Sulfur.

[Towns]
- FIX: Fortress Tier 1 Military Trainer gives a +3 bonus to growth (instead of +2
for other factions)
- FIX: Fortress Tier 2 Military Trainer gives a +2 bonus to growth (instead of +1
for other factions)

[Map Locations]
- NEW: Refugee Camp and Elemental Conflux added in Dwellings
- NEW: Library of Enlightenment requires a hero level 10 or more

[Weeks]
- FIX: Weeks of Feebleness/Idleness/Sorrow also apply to Fortress

[Racial Skills]
- NEW: "Fortress: Runelore" subsection added
- UPD: Training working principles updated
- UPD: Necromancy working principles updated
- NEW: Avenger and Luck are additive (a lucky critical hit deals +200% damage,
+225% with Elven Luck)

[Hero Development]
- NEW: Runemage strategy added

[Game Mechanics]
- NEW: Snatch comments added in "Movement on the Adventure map"
- NEW: Stoneworks and Guard Post details added in "Building your defenses"
- NEW: Swift Mind comment added in Initiative
- NEW: Distract ability added in the ATB modifiers table
- NEW: Fortress added in the morale relationships table
- FIX: There is no [0.1;3] capping for creature damage. Sentence removed
- NEW: comment on "Master of Initiative" in Raelag's paragraph
[Advanced Game Mechanics]
- NEW: Eternal Light comment added in "Dispelling Spell Effects"
- NEW: Crippling Wound, Paw Strike, Mark of Fire, Rune of Thunderclap added to the

[STYLE] style changes (layout, spelling, phrasing...)


- UPD: all in-game texts updated to 2.1 (and fixed where necessary)
- UPD: Difficulty Levels section moved after Adv. Game Mechanics
- UPD: page headers optimized for quicker browsing ("chapter - section" in outside
header)
- UPD: Spectral Dragon icon updated (green eyes glow instead of red)
- UPD: new icons for Ultimate Runelore and Ultimate Counterstrike
- NEW: Skill Wheels are now in A4 format, like the other pages
- NEW: Silver blue colored tags for HoF creature abilities, artifacts, terrains
and map locations
