Diabetes mellitus is one of the leading causes of death across the globe particularly in

the developing world. Diabetes mellitus has become a major health threat as a global rise in it

has been seen. The chronic disease has afflicted over 171 million people worldwide in 2000

and the incidence is expected to grow steadily to 366 million by 2030 (Oluwafemi, 2013).

Based on the data WHO explain that the number of diabetes mellitus increase

worldwide of the prevalence of diabetes in adults of 35% and an increase in the number of

people with diabetes of 122%. Developing countries will face an increase of 48% in the

prevalence of diabetes and an increase of 170% in the number of people with diabetes,

Compared with an increase in the prevalence of diabetes of 27% in developed countries and

an increase of 42% in the number of people with diabetes (The Expert Committee on the

Diagnosis and Classification of Diabetes Mellitus, 2000).
