Advanced Productivity Application for

Wheel Tractor Scraper G Series

Caterpillar is pleased to introduce the Advanced Productivity application (app) to better

visualize productivity information for Cat construction equipment using their Personal Computer
(PC) or mobile device. Developed with the project supervisor and owner/operator in mind,
machine work cycle data can be easily reviewed using dashboard views, scheduled reports, etc.
Users can now more effectively monitor and understand the efficiency of the operation or machine
task execution.

This capability is available using Product Link Web or VisionLink.

The initial introduction of the Advance Productivity capability is only available using the cellular
Product Link PLE641 on the following Wheel Tractor Scraper G-Series: 627G, 631G, 637G, and
657G.

More machine models are soon to follow.

Marketing Strategy

Our marketing strategy has one goal in mind for our customers delivering the lowest owning
and operating cost. The Advanced Productivity capability has been designed to provide users
with the features and functionality to access and see detailed machine work segmentation
information using either Product Link Web or VisionLink. By delivering information vital to
answering basic questions related to managing equipment productivity, users are empowered to
more effectively act on project related task related to equipment management situations that need
attention, i.e. load and haul efficiency, operator training, etc.

Note: Information availability depends on the installed hardware on the equipment and the
capability of the equipment.

For the customer-facing sales person, you are paramount to the success of the Cat Connect
strategy. Being able to conveniently monitor equipment information is the core benefit to users.
Customers are searching for value-added ways to make the best use of time and money while
ensuring quality products and services are delivered in a safe manner. Most, if not all, early
adopting and early majority customers are seeking solutions to help them execute their end-to-
end business processes more effectively while making better, more informed decisions faster.

The go to market strategy for Advanced Productivity will consider three separate areas:
1. Drive interest and activation
2. Retain existing interest
3. Upsell and grow technology

1. Drive interest and activation:

Offer a trial period so that the customer can experience the value of the data.
The Cat Production Measurement kit for the Wheel Tractor Scraper G-Series is
available now. The Medium Wheel Loader availability is projected 4Q2016 and
more will soon follow.

2. Retain existing interest:

Retain interest and keep customers coming back by helping them realize the value
of data through easy to understand dashboards and reports to answer key
questions about production.
This level of automatically reported detail about productivity helps customers better
understand the effective utilization of their equipment by answering questions such
as:
o Are they working and are they doing the tasks designed for the machine?
o Is it being fully utilized?
More Cat equipment models will be introduced over time and the feature /
functionality will continue to become more meaningful and valuable to customers.

 3. Upsell and grow technology:
This capability offers the ability to compare old vs new machines thus arming us
with information to help sell new machines.
As customers begin to realize the value, other technology product and services will
become more probable. Examples will include Cat Production Measurement, Cat
Grade, Cat Compact, Productivity Services, etc.

Ordering Guide
Orders should be placed through Cat Parts Distribution using the ANTARESSM Parts Ordering or
DBS/DBSi systems. Please contact your Caterpillar Industry Technology Representative for more
information.

Availability
The availability of Advanced Productivity currently lines up with select Cat Production
Measurement kits and machine release dates. Currently, the Wheel Tractor Scraper Kit for G-
Series is in production and soon to follow will be the K Series. Scheduled for 4th quarter is the M-
Series Medium Wheel Loader Cat Production Measurement 2.0 coming from the factory.
More machine and kit availability will come in the near future

Pricing
The Advanced Productivity subscription is available through the Cat Dealer Services Portal and
can be purchased for specific enabled Cat Production Measurement machines from the factory or
with an aftermarket kit and equipped with a PLE641 Product Link radio. Once a subscription is
purchased, the Advanced Productivity application will be accessible through VisionLink for data
analysis and detailed reporting.

The customer list price is set at $50 per month, per asset. Please reference the Product Link
Parts and Service Guide on dealer.cat.com for the most up to date pricing.
