1. Introduction

KOSCHEY 5i - is a modern microprocessor-based universal pulse metal detector. The


device is intended for search of the metal objects in the ground, sand, walls, thick grass, etc.
using the device bundled with interchangeable sensors of different size allows to solve a wide
range of search tasks in the treasure, construction, in search of lost things and in other specific
areas of human activity.

2. Main technical characteristics

The maximum depth of detection of objects (by air):

Printed sensor (25 cm diameter)


- Coin diameter of 25mm - up to 30 cm;
- Helmet (WW II) - to 60cm;
- Maximum depth up to 150 cm;

With deep loop-sensor (1,2x1,2m)


Helmet - 140 cm;
Steel barrel 200L - up to 200cm;
The maximum depth is up to 300cm.

3. Operation conditions

Note: Deep loop-sensor in a base complete set is not included and must be purchased

5. The principle of action

The principle of action of a pulse metal detector Koschey-5I based on excitation in the
metal object pulsed eddy currents and the secondary dimension electromagnetic fields that
induce these currents. Using the built-in microprocessor device analyzes this reradiated signal
and produces a corresponding indication of the object detected.

6. Preparation for operation

Before using the device must be brought into working position: Not telescopic bar to the
desired length and lock it with a collet clamp.
6.2. Secure the sensor to the bar through the plastic bolt. When using loop-depth sensor to act
in accordance with the instructions on this sensor. Change of sensors to produce only when
power is off!
6.3. Attached to the barbell electronic unit. The cable connecting the electronic unit and the
sensor entwine 4-5 times around the bar. Connect the connector of the sensor to the electronic
module and carefully tighten the Union nut connector (by hand).
6.4. Attached to the arm the armrest and storage compartment with curly nuts.
6.5. The supply cable entwine 2-3 times around the bar and to connect power supply
connector to the electronic unit.
6.6. If necessary, connect the headphones into the jack located on the rear panel of the device.

7. Device operation

To enable the device, you must remove the sensor 30-40cm from any metal object and the
ground and turn on the switch on to upper position , which is located on the front panel
of the device. Immediately after turning on the unit performs a self-test. At this time, the
device plays the melody, the beat which turns includes LEDs.
Note: the sound is played through the internal speaker or with headphones.
The further management of the detector is done using the volume threshold level (volume)
buttons balance and the mode switch indicator . On Fig. depicted the
front of the detector.
If you turn on the device press and hold the balance button, then using the volume
threshold slider, you can adjust the volume. The melody will be played as long as the button
is held down. After releasing the button, the device will save the adjusted volume level in
non-volatile device memory.

The mode switch allows you to choose one of three modes:


1 - Economical, 2 - Normal, 3 - Turbo mode.

8. Practical recommendations

Getting started you need turn on the device and wait while the self-test. After successful
passing of tests will light the zero (green) led. Next, switch the Mode you want to select the
operating mode. It should be noted that the transition from Regular to Eco mode reduces the
depth of detection of various targets by about 10-20%, and the transition from the Normal to
the Turbo mode about the same increases the depth. However, electricity consumption in
different modes changes in proportions (see chapter 2). So you need to balance selected mode
with the scheduled time.
Getting started the surfing is necessary to drop the sensor to the ground at a distance of 3-5cm

deep loop sensor, the device operates normally.

After balancing the unit will emit a special sound signal and will be ready to search. In this
mode, the LEDs indicate the level of signal reradiated by metal target. The bigger the target
and closer to the sensor, the stronger the signal and the greater number will have the light of
the led. Also together with signal level will change the pitch and the volume of the audio
signal.
Now you must set the necessary sensitivity. This must be done with the thumbwheel
sensitivity threshold. You need to rotate the knob until there is no false positives.

Now we can proceed to search. The detector works in the static mode. So the sensor can be
moved above the ground with any comfortable speed. Upon detection of a metal object works
of visual and sound indication. Slowly moving the sensor over the target using visual and
sound indication can determine the location on the ground where the signal is larger. With
high probability it can be argued that the center of the target is right in this place. The

When the battery is below the permissible level will trigger an audible and visual alarm. In

To charge the battery, you must disconnect the power connector from the electronic block and
insert it into the slot of the charger. The charger must be connected to the network. At the end
of the charge on the front panel charger led will light up.
To extend battery life, it should be stored in a charged state.
Upon completion, the device should be addressed in the reverse order of the Assembly
