CRT ALTERNATIVE

Here is an OGRE/GEV combat model we use instead of the CRT. We use it when playing OGRE
miniatures-and when trying to teach someone the game. Often a new players eyes will glaze over when
they see a chart and have to compare x to y to get odds and then reference, so we use this in its place.

ALTERNATIVE COMBAT IN OGRE GEV

Note: You will need a number of d6 (8-10)to try the alternative combat model.

ATTACKING:

When attacking another unit, the attacking unit rolls a number of D6 equal to the fire power of the unit.
Any result of 5 or 6 is considered a potential hit. Note, when attacking OGRE treads, a 5 or a 6 is a hit,
automatically removing 1 tread from the OGRE for each 5 or 6 rolled.

DEFENDING

Once the attacker has rolled and if he scored any hits, the defender will roll a number of D6 equal to that
units defense number. A roll of a 5 or a 6 cancels out a hit by the attacker. For each 5 or 6 rolled by the
defender, one hit is blocked.

DAMAGE

If the defender blocked all hits from the attacker, the unit suffers no damage. If one or more hits rolled
by the attacker go unblocked, damage was inflicted on the targeted unit.

If One hit scored on:

a vehicle-the unit is now disabled. It may return to battle per the normal OGRE/GEV Rules.

Infantry-the infantry unit is decreased by on unit immediately

an OGRE the targetted weapons system marks off one box of damage
If two or more hits scored on:

a vehicle the unit is destroyed immediately

Infantry they lose 1 unit for each hit scored, when no units reamin infantry is destroyed

an OGRE The Ogre checks of boxes on the targetted weapon system equal to the number of hits which
were not defended. When hits equal or exceed the number of boxes for a system-that system is
destroyed.

OVERUNS

these are handled just like GEV simply double the attack dice for infantry or OGRE weapons

Give it a try, it certainly makes the game flow a bit more quickly!
