USER HINTS.....BUILDING WEIGHT CALCULATOR
MAKE ENTRIES IN YELLOW COLUMNS ONLY. ALL ITEMS IN BOLD BLACK ARE FORMULAS.
ALL THE FORMULAS ARE LINKED TO OTHERS. IF YOU CHANGE ONE YOU WILL GET INCORRECT RESULTS.
Calculate building weights based on many types of structures and sizes. You can separate wall weights, roof weights,
and floor weights or add them all together. Over 51 weights of building materials are included.
You can calculate almost any wall floor or roof segment weights with this calculator.
You can pick the components that go into the structure and get unit weight, segment weight and total structure weight.
Performs 214 calculations instantly as you enter data.
Definitions:
Units- Are individual items like a concrete block or a piece of plywood.
Components-Are a list of units that are a part of the structure.
Segments-Are the combined units that make up a portion of the structure. A frame wall segment 20'x8' would
contain 5 pieces of 4x8 plywood (units). 22 2x4 studs (units) etc.

Select any material by entering a 1 in the YES (Yellow blank)

Leave the component sizes alone unless you are using some odd sizes.
Enter the segment size to match the part of the structure you are interested in. (Yellow blank)
enter the number of segments you need (Yellow blank).
The wall segment length, roof length, and floor length is often the same. (depends on structure tho)
Recheck the Yes column to make sure only the items you select have a 1 in front of them.
Your total loads and footing size (based on soil bearing) will be at the bottom of the page.
LEAVE ALL THE BOLD PRINT ENTRIES ALONE AS THESE ARE FORMULAS
YOU CAN ONLY MAKE ENTRIES IN THE YELLOW BLANKS
leave the soil bearing at 2000 lbs PSF unless you know it to be less.
(loose, sandy, muddy, or disturbed soil could be much less.) so find out.
