Final Reflection

Throughout the semester, I have learned a lot about the organization of both the State and

American Federal government. There are many significant branches and staff that are organized

in such a fashion that it is unique. In addition, as a class we have became knowledgeable with the

political spectrum and how everything in politics refers back to it. For example, the official

government members are all in a political party where their values and decisions are shared.

These come to play in decision-making and the issues that arise in a democracy. Another big part

of the course was learning about the U.S. Constitution. Since this is how we based off our

American democracy, it is significant for us to understand the rules and rights we have as

individual American citizens. We learned how powers in the government are separated,

balanced, and regulated between three branches. The federal government is like a ladder where

different department and powers are compartmentalized to maintain a democracy in the United

States. Also, we have looked at how the media in the United States is depicted to resemble just

what the people favor. In addition to how the media encourages certain ideas that are politically

charged to recruit more people in a political stance. Overall, this introduction to American

government and politics is beneficial to every individual. I am more informed and aware of the

fundamentals of government and politics in the United States.
