1 In this version

This release contains support for new and updated file formats. There are updates
for most technologies that Actix supports, with changes falling under the following
categories:

New collection device support

Decode improvements

New attributes / modifications to existing attributes

New mobile device support in existing formats

Improvements to existing decodes

Improvements to event detection

Format Group issues (for example, binning)

Stability improvements

Event detection and Application layer improvements

Analyzer / Spotlight improvements

Known issues / obsolescence

2 New collection device support

None.

3 Decode improvements

3.1 Agilent support

Added support for Agilent NiXT 12.1.

3.2 Ascom support

The attribute Uu_HSDPA_CQI_Average is now set for Ascom log files.

3.3 Comarco support

The attribute Distance is now correctly set when the Preference Load Time
Message Filtering is selected.

Improvements have been made to the Log File Checker utility.

3.4 Couei support

The Auto Create Frequency Stream preference now works for Couei scanners.

3.5 DingLi support

A problem has been resolved that could have caused some GPS measurements
to be missing.

A problem has been resolved that could have caused CDMA messages to be
incorrectly decoded in rare cases.

3.6 Nemo support

A problem has been resolved with Nemo Outdoor version 5.xx that could have
caused duplicated GSM L3 versions of UMTS NAS messages to be decoded.

An issue has been resolved that prevented GPS interpolation from working with
UMTS scanner devices.

For CDMA log files, the attribute EcIo_Combined is now available.

Improvements have also been made to the following attributes:

3.7 Qualcomm chipset support

Initial support has been added for the following Qualcomm HSPA+ messages:
0x4222 HS decode status log packet with data Version 3
0x4186 WCDMA temporal analysis Version 2

3.8 Rohde & Schwarz support

The Auto Create Frequency Stream Preference for Rohde & Schwarz UMTS
scanner devices is now supported.

In EDGE technology log files, an issue has been resolved with the decoding of
the modulation and coding scheme (MCS).

3.9 Swissqual Diversity/Qualipoc support

Added support for version 10.1.xx. This mainly consists of improvements with
the HSDPA attributes support for Nokia handsets.

Implemented RLC Throughput for GPRS and UMTS technologies.

3.10 TEMS Investigation support

A problem has been solved which caused log files with Japanese characters not
to load in Analyzer.

A problem has been resolved which could cause the Time attribute to be set
incorrectly in log files spanning over midnight.

A problem has been resolved which could cause Top N UMTS scanner
attributes not to be sorted correctly by EcIo.

Several smaller performance-related changes have been made.

3.11 ZTE Celltest support

A problem has been resolved which could cause the PN Delay to be incorrectly
set to negative values. The fix consists in using the Preference Scanner Ec/Io
Threshold to filter out measurements with a level below the noise floor, as they
are the source of the vast majority of incorrect PN Delay values.

3.12 Generic

Added initial support for RRC release 7 messages (3GPP specification 25.331
release 7 version 10 from 09-2008).

Improvements have been made to the algorithm that determines the serving
sector from the test device GPS coordinates.

A problem has been resolved which could cause the DT Data Testing report to
display no result.

A problem has been resolved so that the Spotlight binned query GSM DT
Design Validation and Quick Analysis is now displayed correctly in maps and
tables.

4 Event detection and Application layer

improvements

In UMTS, the PS event detection has been improved so that a PS call setup is
now detected at the Activate PDP Context Accept message, even if the RRC
messages Radio Bearer Setup and / or Radio Bearer Setup Complete are
missing. If the message Radio Bearer Setup is missing, a new attribute
Uu_MissingRRCMessage_Flag is set, in order to indicate that a key message
potentially affecting the event detection is missing.

In UMTS, the PS event detection has been improved so that a PS call

completion is now detected at Deactivate PDP Context Request message when
the message is sent during a radio bearer reconfiguration procedure.

In UMTS, we do not peg a failure at RRC Connection Release-CCCH message

with the cause Directed Signaling Connection Re-Establishment when the
message is received by the handset during a Cell Update procedure.

In EVDO, new events have been created that are set when a personality switch
occurs:
