January 26th, 2017, Zaragoza Zentyal, developer of Zentyal Linux Small Business Server, today announced a major new version of the Commercial
Zentyal Server Edition. Zentyal Server 5.0 aims at o ering an easy-to-use Linux server with native compatibility with Microsoft Active Directory.
Amid the generalized push for cloud, small and medium business continue requiring on-site server solutions and with this release Zentyal responds to
their needs.

Zentyal Server 5.0 is based on Ubuntu Server 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) and comes with the latest versions of all the integrated software. The single
most important improvement Zentyal Server 5.0 introduces is the integration of the latest Samba version (Samba 4.5.1) directly from upstream. Due
to the fast development of the Samba project, from this version onwards Zentyal will integrate the latest stable Samba packages available upstream.

Zentyal Server 4.0: Technical features (commercial edition)

Zentyal Server 4.0 is based on the latest Ubuntu LTS distribution (Ubuntu 14.04). It o ers the following new mail and mail-related directory features,
including:

Provisioning of Zentyal as rst Microsoft Exchange Server

PST- le import

Support for RPC over HTTP (Microsoft Outlook Anywhere)

Autodiscover service

Support for Microsoft Outlook 2013

Support for shared calendars & contacts

Multi-language support for mailboxes

Out of o ce-message support

In addition, a number of modules have been removed in order to focus on providing native support for mixed IT environments. The dropped modules are:
IPS, UPS management, Backup, Monitor, RADIUS, Webserver, Roudcube Webmail (replaced by SOGo Webmail) and IPsec (replaced by a new module
supporting only L2TP). All these modules will continue being supported in the current Commercial Zentyal Server versions until the end of life of each
version. Moreover, partners and customers are provided documentation and support where these features are required with manual con guration
with other open source alternatives.

Upgrading

Migration of existing customers with Zentyal Server 3.2 SP2 to 4.0 will be supported at no extra cost. Customers wishing to upgrade can contact the
Zentyal Support Engineers thorough the Support Platform.

Commercial Zentyal Edition (Zentyal 4.0). This version will be published in October 2014 and it will o er greatly improved interoperability with
Microsoft Exchange Server. In this regard, the new commercial edition will come with the following new features:

Zentyal 4.0 will primarily focus on providing interoperability with Microsoft Exchange Server, but it will also integrate improved Quality Assurance
procedures and o er a migration path from Commercial Zentyal Server 3.2 Editions to 4.0 Edition. It is also important to note that this release will
run on Ubuntu Server 14.04 LTS.

In order to focus on o ering a drop-in replacement for Windows Small Business Server and Microsoft Exchange Server, a number of modules will
be dropped in this version. The dropped modules include: L7 lter, FTP, Zarafa, User Corner, Captive Portal, Bandwidth Monitor, IPS, UPS, Backup,
Monitor, RADIUS, Webserver and Webmail (Roundcube) and IPsec. All these modules will continue being supported in the existing Commercial
Zentyal Server versions until the end of life of each version.

Zentyal, developer of easy IT solutions for small business, announced today a change in its release policy, adapting it to its clients needs. Zentyal will
now release a new edition of Commercial Zentyal Editions every 24 months, allowing O cial Zentyal Partners to o er top quality, fully tested and
reliable products to their customers.

Each new commercial release from Zentyal will include the latest Ubuntu Server LTS (Long-Term Support) version, and will be periodically reinforced
with Service Packs, upgrading the editions with new, fully tested features, security and software updates.

Under this new policy, Commercial Zentyal Editions extend their life cycle, receiving technical support during 4 and a half years, and will bene t from
security updates through repositories speci cally dedicated to these editions.

This new release policy allows us to continuously raise the quality and reliability of our products, and our Authorized Partners will have the best tools available in
order to deploy the perfect IT solution for each client, commented Beata Gonzlez-Blanco, Vice President of Global Sales at Zentyal.

Zentyal Community Edition also undertakes a change in its release policy, reviewing new features, improvements and software updates in three-month
intervals always including the latest available version of Ubuntu Server. Thus, Zentyal Community Edition becomes the technological laboratory
where new features are rst being deployed. When these new features are deemed to be stable, they will be integrated in the Commercial Editions via
Service Packs, ensuring a long term quality service for all the Zentyal products.
