Teacher's goal is to make a student understand the meaning and difference
between Present Simple and Present Continuous.
For presentation teacher takes bright examples as ''Water always boils at 100
degrees cesium" and "Water is falling down from the top of the Niagara Falls"
(using video). Teacher underlines that the first case is a fact. And the second case
is a process that is currently happening.
Then teacher provides student with examples using new vocabulary, ask students

"In have a question"
Teacher and students together create a list of questions that would be interesting to ask a
person you've just met:
Examples: What's your favorite color? Do you have pets? How many siblings do you have?
What country do you dream to visit? What is your favorite food? Are you afraid of spiders?
etc

Teacher writes all the questions down on the sheet of paper then cuts the questions. So
each student can randomly pick a question.
Students pick random questions. Students must move in the classroom and ask each other
questions they've chosen.
Students have one minute to ask each other their questions. After teacher clapping the
hands twice or sound of a time students must change the partner and ask another person
the same question.

Teacher's instruction: "Ask every person in the group a question you've picked. You have
one minute to ask each other your question and find out some interesting details".

Example: Hi, Yury! I have a question for you. What is your favorite band? - Hi! I think,
Beatles. - Great! I love them too! I have another question for you. What dish do you like to
cook? - Hm. Spaghetti is my favorite. - Why? - Because you need just a clean pot, water and
10 minutes. -Haha. That's true. *time's finished*

Follow-up activity ''New fact"

Students work all together again. T asks "What new fact did you learn about _____"? Each
student shares one new fact about a certain person which they learned during the activity.

"True/False"
Students should write down 6 statements about themselves: 3 of them in Present Simple
(e. g. I play hokey every day; I smoke a pack of cigarettes a day; I like watching Star Wars)
and 3 in Present Continuous (e. g. I'm learning Chinese; I'm building a house; I'm writing a
book).
Two out of three sentences must be false.
We divide students in group of 3. One student reads their statements and they try to guess
what statement is actually true. And ask extra questions. This activity requires a time limit
for each student.

Short follow-up activity:

Students work all together again. T asks "What new fact did you learn about _____"? T
pays extra attention which grammar construction Ss use in their answers.

"Storyteller"
Students are divided in the groups of 3. They must create very short fairytale using flash
cards with new business vocabulary. Present them in their groups.
"Word explainer"
Teacher provides students with the flash cards (new vocabulary + words from previous
lessons to revise).
Divide students in two groups. Set the timer which beeps every 30 seconds.
One student from each group must pick a flash card and explain the word in the next 30
seconds to the rest of his team. Repeat few times.
Then one student from another team do the same.
Team which will guess more words wins.
