The longitudinal shear per unit length at the interface of the Steel Beam unit and in-situ RCC unit can be obtained
from the following expression:
V x Ae x Y
VL = = #DIV/0! kg/cm.
I
Where,
V = Vertical Shear due to dead load placed after composite section is effective and working live load
with impact = #DIV/0! kg
VL = Longitudinal shear per unit length
Y = Distance of the centroid of the area under consideration from the neutral axis
of the composite section = 60.81 Cm
I = Moment of Inertia of the composite section = 6307632.31 Cm4
Now, using Mild Steel Channel Shear Connector, the Design strength of each shear connector, Q, can be obtained
from IS: 11384 - 1985 in Limit State method,
For ISMC 125 x 150 mm long Shear Connector, the shear capacity, Q
Q= 219.0 kN = 21.9 T = 21900 kg
Hence, the corresponding safe shear capacity in Working Stress Method, Q = 21900 x 0.87 =
= 19053 kg
Where, = 190.53 kN
Q= The safe shear resistance in Newton of one shear connector

For live load, deflection is calculated using the moment of inertia of composite section
For calculating the moment of inertia of the composite section, we shall have to locate first the position of neutral axis.
So, this inequation is false, Therefore depth of Neutral Axis exceeds the depth of slab ds
Let the depth of the neutral axis be, xu (when NA exceeds the depth of slab ds)
To find out the depth of Neutral Axis, xu , the following quadratic equation is to be solved,
Aa(dg - xu) = (beff/m1)ds(xu - ds/2) or, 82928 (1250 - xu) = (1100/7.3) 400 (xu - 400/2)

( i ) Load on Structure
Height of exposed surface in windward side = 1700 + 400 + 250 + 1000 = 3350.00 mm
Height of exposed surface in Leeward side = 1700 + 250 + 1000 = 2950.00 mm
Horizontal Wind Load on the structure windward HWW(s) = 0.63 x 3350 / 1000 = 2.111 KN/M
Horizontal Wind Load on the structure windward HWL(s) = 0.63 x 2950 / 1000 = 1.859 KN/M
Therefore the bracing system will be designed for higher loads, i.e. for load 2.744 KN
Wind Load on Moving object as per Clause 212.4 = 3.0 KN/M run P2 (Say)
The load acts at a height of 1.5 M from surface of road
Therefore overturning moment due to wind on moving Load = 3 x (1.5 + 0.4 + 0.075) = 5.925 KN-M/M
=
Therefore vertical UDL on long Girder = 5.925 / 1.1 = + 5.39 KN/M
Span of Girder , 26 M
Therefore Bending Moment due to vertical effect of wind BM(WL) = 455.148 KN-M

( i ) Dead Load on one span for single lane with two girders
= 2 x (3.775 x 26 + 1.05 x 26) = 250.9 T

Reaction = 2 Ps = 210.540 KN
The vertical Load will be divided in the two Girders as UDL = ( 210.54 / 2 ) / 26 =
= 4.05 KN / M
Span of Girder , L = 26.00 M
Therefore Bending Moment due to vertical seismic Load BM(SL) = 342.13 KN-M
