CSI EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROGRAM DAILY LESSON PLAN

TIME ACTIVITY
8:00-8:15am ARRIVAL TIME:
Materials Needed: Circle Area: Identifying Phonemes
Arrival Table: Measuring cubes and clip boards
Objectives: Child uses standard measuring procedures. Child blends a word composed of three or more phonemes.
Child points out that two words start with the same sound. Child identifies the beginning and ending phonemes in a
word.
8:15-8:35am LITERACY CIRCLE :
Materials needed: Attention Getter: Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes
Attendance: Tumbling Mat
Book: Rhyming Dust Bunnies By Jan Thomas
Transition to Planning Time: If you are wearing
Objectives: Children will practice self-regulation and body awareness. Child retells in a sequence four or more events
tin a story or book.

8:35-8:45am PLANNING TIME STRATEGY:


Materials needed: Thank You Letters

Objectives: Child represents information in abstract ways. Child combines letters to form words for a purpose.

8:45-9:30am WORK TIME:


List changes/additions/materials needed in any areas
Materials needed:
(block, house, art, quiet, other)
Sensory Table: Shaving Cream & Whipped Cream
Book Library: Childrens Favorites/ variety
I will have out pictures of animals and their habitats
Objectives: Children will explore creams using their senses. Children will engage in pretend play. Children will
collaborate with their peers. Children will discuss changes in the environment and talk about different types of wild life
and their habitats.

9:30-9:40am TIDY UP TIME:


Materials Needed: Cleaning up with Baskets

Objectives: Children practice self-regulation. Children transition between parts of daily routine.

9:40-10:10 OUTDOOR/LARGE MOTOR ACTIVITIES:


Materials Needed: Science Table: Magnified glasss and tongs
Adding Menus to the Kitchen Area
Objectives: Children play collaboratively with their peers. Child will make a prediction and carry out their experiment.
Child examine and try different ideas to solve problems with materials.

10:10-10:30 SNACK / RECALL TIME:


Materials Needed Peaches & Granola bars
Objectives: children will add to conversation by connecting the topic to his/her own experience.

10:30-10:45 MUSIC/MOVEMENT CIRCLE:


Materials Needed: Attention Getter: If you can Hear me..
Free Style Dancing, Music for Creative dance and streamers
Transition to Small Group: We will transition as one big group
Objectives: Child will name and do movements. Child will practice self-regulation. Child describes how his or her
movement is connected to a feature of music.

10:45-11:00 SMALL GROUP TIME:


Materials Needed:
Patterns with different materials
Objectives: Children create his or her own simple pattern with at least 3 repeats. Children will create their own unique
or complex patterns.
11:00am DEPARTURE
