DIRECTIONS
Although I have described below the way from the airport, train and bus stations, please
double check with www.wienerlinien.at for an up to date info. This is the official
website for public transportation in Vienna including detailed way description, maps,
timetable and ticket prices on english and german.

Getting into your accommodation from:

AIRPORT:

Way 1 (a bit slower = approx. 48 min, but cheaper):

At the Airport take the Schnellbahn (Fast train) S7 in the direction of Wien
Florisdorf. Get out at the station Wien Mitte Landstrasse. Change into the
underground line U4 in the direction of Htteldorf. Get out at the station Karlsplatz.

- Make sure to take the correct exit from the underground station, otherwise you will
end up in a totally wrong place!

Here the detailed way how to exit the underground:

When you exit the train at Karlsplatz, but literally, when you put your foot outside of
the train, take the exit Karlsplatz. Then, after you went up the stairs, then you have
one more exit - again Karlsplatz (in this case there is no choice anyways). After that,
never ever take Karlsplatz exit - you will end up in a wrong part of the town. So now
go in the direction of Oper, and finally take the exit Krtnerstrae.

- When you come up on the street level, you will see the Vienna State Opera on your
left side. Keep walking down the street Krtnerstrae. Your first landmark is Zara
Home, on the right street side. Keep walking down the street Krtnerstrae. Your
next landmark on the right street side is a women clothing store Hall Huber. So
this street is Annagasse. In Annagasse is also a Burger King, so this is also a
landmark for you to know that you are in the right street. Keep walking down the
street Annagasse, pass by Burger King, and after about 50 meters, you will reach
Moris Restaurant. We are right after it, house number 5. Our doors are huge
wooden doors in a kind of yellow color, and there are lots of small signs for different
offices that are in our building. Two of them have a big sign: ZIRM and Audilogik.

If you come during the day, the main building door is open. If you come during the night, it
is closed, so you have to ring at Stiege 1 apartment number 114. Go in the inner court.
On the left side is the entrance number 1 (on german: Stiege 1). Ring again at 114. Go in
the elevator. We are on the 5th floor, but in the elevator there is no number 5, so press on
letter D. We are the doors on the right side down the hall.

4
Way 2 (a bit faster = approx. 35 Min., and a bit more expensive):

At the Airport take the CAT train (City Airport Train, more info on schedule and
prices at www.cityairporttrain.com).

- Get out at the station Wien Mitte Landstrasse. Change into the underground line
U4 in the direction of Htteldorf. Get out at the station Karlsplatz.

- Make sure to take the correct exit from the underground station, otherwise you will
end up in a totally wrong place!

Way 3 (approx. 35 Min., my favorite):

At the Airport go to the Busterminal. Take the bus to Wien Morzinplatz. The bus
costs approx. 8 / person, it brings you to Vienna in 20 Min, it drives every 30 min.
More info on http://www.postbus.at/en/Airportbus/Vienna_AirportLines/Morzinplatz/
index.jsp

The bus stops on its only stop Morzinplatz. From there walk straight to the
underground station Schwedenplatz.

Take the line underground line U1 in the direction of Reummansplatz. Get out at the
station Karlsplatz.

Here the detailed way how to exit the underground:

PARKING

Great website for general info: www.parkeninwien.at

We are in the center of the center, so the parking here is rather expensive.

Basically I recommend these 2 options:

1) Karlsplatzgarage: 10/ 24 hours, 10-15 min walking from us

2) Park n Ride Htteldorf, 3.7/ 24 hours, 20 min with th underground from us.

Here are the details about this 2 parking places:

1) A bit more expensive, but much closer (about 10-15 min walking and sightseeing
at the same time):

Parkgarage Karlsplatz, Mattiellistrae 2-4, 1010 Vienna. More Info on: http://
www.parkeninwien.at/garage-44-63.html
Price: 10/ 24 hours

2) Cheaper, but further away:

Our guests that arrivied from Munich parked there:

11
go to Park and Ride Htteldorf. It costs 3,40 / 24 hours, or 17,10 / week.
There is a direct underground line taking you to us in about 20 Min.

After you parked your car, take the underground line U4 in the direction of
Heiligenstadt. Get out at the station Karlsplatz.

Make sure to take the correct exit from the underground station, otherwise you will
end up in a totally wrong place!

Here the detailed way how to exit the underground:

- When you come up on the street level, you will see the Vienna State Opera on your
left side. Keep walking down the street Krtnerstrae. Your first landmark is
Sturbucks coffee. Keep walking down the street Krtnerstrae passing by
Starbucks. After Sturbucks, approx. 130 meters, turn into the 2nd street on the right
side. Your landmark is a women clothing store Hall Huber. So this street is
Annagasse. In Annagasse is also a Burger King, so this is also a landmark for you
to know that you are in the right street. Keep walking down the street

12
LUGGAGE STORAGE

If you arrive to Vienna to early or leave to late (not within the check in/ check out time), you
can store your luggage in the following places:

Wien Westbahnhof

I recommend it if you arrive to or depart from Wien Westbahnhof

To get there from our place, go to Stephansplatz station and take the U3 in the
direction of Ottakring. Get out at the station Westbahnhof.

Wien Hauptbahnhof

I recommend it if you arrive to or depart from Wien Hauptbahnhof

To get there from our place, go to Karlsplatz station and take the U1 in the
direction of Reaumannsplatz. Get out at the station Hauptbahnhof - Sdtirolerplatz.

Wien Mitte/ Landstrae

I recommend if you arrive or depart from the Airport.

To get there from our place, go to Karlsplatz, take the underground line U4 in the
direction of Heiligenstadt. Get out at Wien Mitte/ Landstrae.
From Wien Mitte/ Landstrae to Airport
At Wien Mitte/ Landstrae station take the Schnellbahn (fast train) S7 in the
direction of Flughafen Wien (Vienna Airport). Get out at the airport. This is a direct
train, and it will take you approx. 38 Min.
Or at Wien Mitte-Landestrasse the CAT train to Airport (faster but more
expensive)

Vienna International Bus Terminal (Erdberg)

I recommend it if you arrive to or depart from Vienna International Bus Terminal.

At Stephansplatz station take the underground line U3 in the direction of
Simmering. Get out at Erdberg station.

13
KEYS

There are 3 keys.

The triangular key is the key for the building door. The square key is the key of the
appartment door. The other key is your bedroom key.

LOCKING/ UNLOCKING THE APPARTMENT DOOR.

When you exit the appartment, basically you do not have to lock the door because
no one can't get in without the key. BUT, we still WANT that the doors are being
locked when leaving the appartment.

CHECK OUT

When you check in, please let us know your check out time.
It is not necessary that we are there for your check out. Just leave the keys in your
bedroom and close the door. Obviously, you can't lock them now, but that's fine.
Just make sure that the appartment door is really closed when you leave.

14
PLACES TO SEE

Apart from the Schnbrunn Palace, all the below mentioned venues are literally in front of
the door, so no need to buy public transport tickets, because they are all reachable in 1-15
minutes by walking.

St. Stephens Cathedral on St. Stephens Square

I suggest (if it's nice weather) to go up on the Cathedral's tower called Pummerin. It
costs 5 , you go up with the elevator and get on a huge terrace with a beautiful
view of Vienna. More info on http://www.stephanskirche.at/index.jsp?
menuekeyvalue=26&langid=1
Pummerin is a lower tower. The South Tower (Sdturm) is higher, but I do not
suggest it because you need to climb over 343 stairs and you do not get to go out
on the terrace, but you have to look through a window instead.

Vienna State Opera

I recommend to do the guided tour through the Opera House. It costs only 5 and
you get to see the whole Opera House from the inside along with really great stories
about its history. More info about the time table on: http://www.wiener-staatsoper.at/
Content.Node/home/opernhaus/fuehrungen/fuehrungen.en.php
The entrance for the guided tour is from the left side of the main entrance.
On the right side of the main entrance, a bit further down, there is huge display. In
the evening, there is a live streaming of the Opera/ Ballet happening inside. There
are around 200 chairs to sit, and it's free.

Vienna Ring Road

The Ring Road (German: Ringstrae) is a circular road surrounding the Innere Stadt
district (historical center) of Vienna and is one of its main sights. Ringstrae is the road
that is in front of the Opera main entrance, the busy road with lots of cars and trams. I
highly suggest to take this walk on Vienna Ring Road because you get to see the
highlights of Vienna on this one simple walk!

This is what you can find on the Ringstrae:

Hofburg with Sissy Museum and the Spanish Riding School

Hofburg Palace was the imperial residence of the royal Habsburg family from 13th
century until 1918. Since 1945 it is the residence and workplace of the Austrian
President. More Info on: http://www.hofburg-wien.at/en.html
Within Hofburg are Sissy Museum, Imperial Appartment, the Silver Collection
(http://www.hofburg-wien.at/wissenswertes/sisi-museum.html) and Spanish Riding
School ( http://www.srs.at/en/ ).

15
Art History Museum and Natural History Museum

Art History Museum (www.khm.at)

- Natural History Museum (www.nhm.at)

Museums Quartier

If you go through the park between the above mentioned museums, you will see the
Museums Quarter. Very popular place for young artists and students n Vienna.
More info on www.mqw.at
Appart from housing numerous museums, there you have Museum shop with cool
souvenir ideas, and lots of cute bars and restaurants.

The Parliament

- I reccommend to do the guided tour. For the schedule and prices please check
here: http://www.parlament.gv.at/ENGL/GEBF/FUEHRUNGEN/OeffentlicheFuehrungen/

The City Hall (Rathaus)

The City Hall is the beautiful old castle-like building with towers on your right. City
Hall (Rathaus) is my absolute favorite in Vienna!
More info for City Hall Tour on https://www.wien.gv.at/english/cityhall/tours.htm

Events in front of the City Hall

There is always something interesting and cool happening on the square in front of
the City Hall. For example, in the winter there is a huge and beautiful outdoor ice
skating arena (https://www.wienereistraum.com/), open air summer cinema (http://
www.wiener-rathausplatz.at/programm.html), numerous music festivals, concerts or

REASTAURANTS

Here are some of our favourite places near by. Our guests tried them out, and were all
very happy with the food and ambience.

Figlmller

known as homeland of Schnitzel since 1905

http://www.figlmueller.at/de/figlmueller-wollzeile.html
Go to St. Stephan's Square.
Keep going straight down through St. Stephens Square into the street called
Rotenturmstrasse (on the beggining of this street there is Bank Austria on the left
side and on the right side is Manner sweets shop).
Keep walking down on the right side of this street (Roterturmstrasse) and turn right
at the next corner into the street Wollzeile.
Walk along the left side of this street (Wollzeile).
You will se a beautiful white passage (also a cool restaurant). Do not go into this
passage unless you want to go to this restaurant (Labstelle). For Figmller, keep
going until you reach a green passage, usually very crowded, looks very
picturesque. Go in and there it is The Figlmller.
Usually it's very busy, so we recommend to book your table. Although we never
booked it and always got a table. We ate a lunch though at about 1-2 PM. In th
evening it is very crowded.
Wienerschnitzel with potato salat costs approx.18,10 .

Plachutta

Famous restaurant, great Wiener Schnitzel

Go into Krtnerstrae and turn left. Go all the way up until you reach the Sturbucks
on the left corner and turn immediately left into the small street called
Walfischgasse. The first restaurant you came a cross is Plachutta. During warmer
weather it has a huge white tent outside.

Museums quarter

If you find Figmller and Plachutta to expensive to try Wiener Schnitzel, you can
also get a great Wiener Schnitzel in numerous small restaurants in Museums
Quarter. We went there when our friend from Cyprus came to visit and it was great.
It costs about 13 .
In Museumsquarters, appart from a cool Museum shop and numerous museums,
you have many reastaurants and caffees. A very popular place for locals and turists.

Neni on Naschmarkt

middle eastern food

breakfast, brunch, lunch (but dinner as well)
www.neni.at
Naschmarkt is a famous market where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, but
there are also small restaurants and caffees, a very popular place among the
Viennese people to go.
Naschmarkt got its name from the word Naschen, which means to nibble or
dining.
Neni is a Jewish lady, very famous in Vienna, having a couple of restaurants.
Great food, especially for breakfast, brunch or lunch!
To get there, as you exit the building go into Krtnerstrae and turn left. Go all the
way up until you reach the Opera. Keep going straight along the Opera and then
turn right. You will pass along the Opera main entrance. Soon you will see a traffic
light. At the traffic light cross the big street where the trams go. Keep going straight.
Soon you will pass by Motel One on your left side, then comes the famous Cafe
Museum (great for breakfast by the way), and then you will reach a cross roads.
After the cross roads you will see a kind of pink building. Go behind it and you will
see small green stands. That's Naschmarkt. Keep going until you find Neni. It takes
about 10 Minutes.

Vienna has a tradition of coffee houses, so here are just a few of our
favorite and oldest traditional coffee houses in Vienna. They were meeting
points of famous artists and academics in early 20th century such as Klimt
and Kokoschka:
