1. INTRODUCTION:

The Software Requirement Specification (SRS) forms the basis of software

development. This is a document that describes the user needs accurately. It is used to

specify the requirements for the initial implementation of the system and to update in the

future. SRS bridges the gap between the user and system developer.

2 .Objective of the project:

Objective:

The objective of this project is to find whether complaint that was given by Citizen to
Police Station is solved or no through SMS or Online. Also the citizen can make a report
missing persons, report missing valuables and can report about wanted criminals. And the
police department administration can be done online

3. System Analysis:
3.1 Existing System :

1.In the existing system it is clear that there is an overhead to maintain all the reports

and the citizen who wish to report the complaint should reach the respective police

station.

2.And also when the complaint has been registered in the Police Station, citizen can

find the status of the complaint whether the investigation has been started or pending

by visiting the police station as there is no way to get the status automatically. This

drawback has been overcome in the proposed system.

 3.2 Proposed System:

By viewing the problems of the existing system we went for the design and

renovation of the existing system.

By developing this application, citizen can easily come to know about the status of

the complaint through SMS or online.

Investigations pertaining to the complaint can be easily forwarded to any police

station or any PSI for further investigation. In this system even if the PSI or police

station does not belong to the associated area where crime had taken place, can have

the case forwarded and handle the same.

5. HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS:

5.1. Hardware Requirements:

Operating system Windows 98/XP, Windows 7,

Windows 8
Processor Pentium III at 500 MHz and above
RAM 512 MB RAM onwards
Storage Capacity 10GB free space in hard disk
