Matthew Catholic School followed by Notre Dame High School
in Belmont. Jeanne attended University of California, Berkley,
where she joined the Delta Gamma Sorority. In her sophomore year, she was invited
on a blind date where she met the love of her life for the next 52 years, Orville
Herschel Haag, aka Gus. They were married on July 1, 1948. They spent a short
time in San Francisco at Park Merced. With the birth of their son Stephen, they soon
moved and built a home in San Mateo where their daughter, Bonnie Jeanne, was born.
This was Jeannes home for 67 years. She volunteered for the Peninsula Childrens
Theatre and Medical Mission Sisters. She loved and devoted her life to her family.
Gus & Jeanne were long-time members of Peninsula Golf & Country Club, and
enjoyed many social festivities. Their second home was in Maui where they visited
several times a year. They both traveled the world, but their rst love was Hale Napili
in Maui.
Jeanne was a consummate and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-
grandmother. She is survived by her son Stephen; daughter Bonnie Jeanne De Leuw
(Tracy); grandchildren: Cameron, Evan, Lara, Kristina, Samantha & Jessica; and
great-grandchildren: Blake, Kate, Jack, Charlie & Charlotte. Tutu will be greatly
missed but her memories will continue in all of us.
