its important to acknowledge why they are historically significant. Teaching with Historical places allows
us to take a unique perspective when we discuss the importance on studying history and the impact it
has as we expand.

The Mississippi Civil Rights Museum has recently opened its doors on December, 9th. Mississippi is an
important location in the United States which led the way in the controversial issues being challenged
during the Civil Rights Era. It is significant as a classroom source because it is a newly opened museum
which seeks to remember the events that only took place fifty years ago, but continue to impact the
United States.
