1. What connections have you had from what youve studied in Fitness for Life with what youve learned
from other courses you have taken at SLCC or have learned before taking this class? Make specific
references to your work in this class and in other courses. How did what you learned in other courses
enhance what you learned in Fitness for Life, and vice versa?
Ive enjoyed learning how to improve my body, fitness and overall lifetime wellness in the past 8 weeks. I
learned many different techniques from the weekly readings and discussions from my peers to adapted
healthier habits to improve my life. Ive learned to adapt a healthy eating habit and sleep cycle, I learned
to pay closer attention to my body and the way it reacts to certain foods and exercises. I learned to
maintain a healthy workout routine that works for my life, body and schedule. I will continue this weekly
routine to continually improve my overall health and lifelong wellness. Ive learned the importance of
exercise in my daily routine in order to maintain a healthy positive, stress-free mindset and lifestyle.
2. Reflect on what you thought about Fitness and Lifelong Wellness before you took this course and how
you think about it now that you have completed the course. Have any of your assumptions or
How will you approach what influenced you differently in the future?
I would say that my overall health has improved substantially since the course began. From my workout
routine Ive had more energy, more positivity and communication with my co-workers. Before this course
I was aware of healthy eating habits, Ive been trying to maintain a vegetarian diet since taking HLTH-
1500 last semester, this along with my improved workout routine provided me with the knowledge
necessary to continue to make physical growth and change. I learned essential knowledge about managing
a fitness routine to improve my overall mental, physical, and emotional healthy and lifelong wellness. I
want to age successfully and continue to develop lifelong SMART workout goals to continually achieve
optimum fitness. This course taught me the importance of lifelong wellness and daily exercise.
