1. Electricity Consumption Reduction
Background:

Electricity demand is the most important aspect in India. In December 2011, over 300 million Indian citizens had no
access to frequent electricity. Over one third of India's rural population lacked electricity, as did 6% of the urban
population. Of those who did have access to electricity in India, the supply was intermittent and unreliable. In 2010,
blackouts and power shedding interrupted irrigation and manufacturing across the country. India's network technical
losses is 23.65% in 2013, compared to world average of less than 15%. A high proportion of non-technical losses are
caused by illegal tapping of lines, and faulty electric meters that underestimate actual consumption also contribute to
reduced payment collection.

Need of Project:

In 2010, blackouts and power shedding interrupted irrigation and manufacturing across the country. India's network
technical losses is 23.65% in 2013, compared to world average of less than 15%. A high proportion of non-technical
losses are caused by illegal tapping of lines, and faulty electric meters that underestimate actual consumption also

Thus inequitable distribution of electricity comes into picture. Hence the one who pays more gets more, This whole
scenario of shortage and wastage; profits and losses; rural and urban; investment and supply; needs to be looked into
and requires some urgent transformations from the core.

Research Problem:

There is a lot of electricity wastage and no one to notice. The project is an attempt to do the same. In it also the issues
such as tapping of electric lines, meter based electricity lines, duties and rights of the state government about the same
are addressed.

Methodology:

Primary Research and Secondary Research

Expected outcome:

With this project the industry can save a lot of money that is being wasted and they are not even realizing it.

2. 5S Implementation
Background:
Globalization and innovations in technology have immensely increased the level of competition especially in the past
two decades. To stay in the business arena every company needs to reach or exceed the customer expectations at
lowest possible prices. Improvements and innovation breakthroughs have become a necessity to stay in business rather
than just mere tools to improve profitability of a company. Hence, concepts like Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing,
Continuous Improvements, Quality Circles (QCs), Just-in-Time (JIT) are gaining popularity these days.
Need of Project:
Lean Manufacturing is the hymn of survival and success of any organization through minimizing the waste (Muda). 5S
Methodology is one of the basic and the most important tool to implement Lean Manufacturing. It is a system to
regulate the work flow by systemizing the workplace, thus supporting the culture of continuous improvement.

Methodology:
Primary Research and Secondary Research

Expected Outcome:
With the implementation of this, I would want to set up the best possible face of the industry for its proper functioning.
